Ha ha - Yes he is!! He is the typical guy who takes a new job then suddenly wants to go to all the 'nights out' with colleagues, when he had never bothered before. A wife knows when her husband has a new interest in another woman!! What I find pathetic is he seems to be unaware of the facts of love : every time you start a relationship, it is ALWAYS exciting, then after the excitement dies down a bit, you get into a routine and eventually if you do marry, you settle into daily life.... and so on. He must have been over excited when he met his wife, yet he fails to realise he is reliving the same emotions again, and eventually this relationship will be the same as what he has. THE GRASS IS NOT GREENER on the other side, it is just the same. To make his wife feel as though she was not good enough is the catalyst to all the problems, the hurt and the betrayal, could launch a person into doing something crazy, and who could blame them??? I certainly would not blame anyone who went through this sort of trauma if they did something crazy, this woman (his wife) just gave up her life in SC to go live where her husband was - all she had in that city was him!! the rat!!!

If people truly love themselves…they don’t have the core wounds that feed into the vulnerability that causes affairs. I would say 95%+ of people who have affairs have insecure attachment style (formed in childhood) and subsequent attachment wounds, distorted thinking patterns, poor communication (unable to assertively state needs and have healthy boundaries (for self, within marriage, and regarding others). We are NOT taught in our society how to relate, continually in healthy ways. How to be fully honest (for example, indirect/passive requests are dishonest communication, among many ways of communicating dishonestly that aren’t overt). We are taught how to get a job, how to “look” successful (defined by society) and those are often totally different skills than the ongoing work of relationships. Most people have no clue how to handle the distress of conflict, regulate their emotions, hold space for disagreements, and all the many complex tools needed for making a long term relationship thrive. Relationships are dynamic, evolving, and need continual care. Most people don’t attend to this in a way that speaks to one another, but instead superimpose some unanalyzed way of being towards others. Often people aren’t able to fully consider others and also consider themselves, it’s too complex. People often don’t have the awareness that relationships are an ongoing rupture/repair cycle, that needs attending to. They often rupture, rupture, rupture, and have no clue how to repair (or that it’s what is essential to keeping a safe, happy relationship). Think of your own family of origin…what happened when there was a disconnect with you and a caregiver? What happened between the two caregivers? Was there good repair (and coregulation) modeled? In most homes it’s not. The foundation we are programmed with in childhood sets the relational blueprint & we are often wholly clueless that this happens. Anyone who cheats has deep wounds that likely go all the way back… We need to change as a society, if we want any hope that cheating will decrease.

My dad cheated on my mom after 23 years of marriage and it tore her and our family apart but she certainly did not go kill the chick. There’s no excuse for cheating and it’s a terrible thing to do but at the same time we need to remember it’s not an excuse to murder someone. They were scumbags for cheating and this dude doesn’t want to take any responsibility at ALL which says a lot about him but aside from the affair someone’s daughter was taken from them. Yea she f**ked up and was wrong for the affair but she definitely didn’t deserve to DIE. Jennair’s actions were not a normal response to the situation so she was either suffering big time from a mental disease before all this or there was a sinister side to her no one knew about.

People shouldn't have relationships, if their just going to leave, when things aren't a fairytale anymore. That's the real problem, but as nobody cares to set a good example, let people do what they want, when they want. That's what we have been tought and what will keep carrying on to next generations until the fall of humanity, wich isn't far anyway.

iostboy she specifically said “I despise women who get involved with married men, especially when they are married themselves” she singled out the other woman and is apparently in denial that the man who made the commitment is the one whom should be despised and blamed. He and Meredith were both awful people. My ex had been having an affair with a married woman. She texted him in the middle of the night calling me, "the crazy girl" and all hell broke loose. I found out everything. She was married to her high school sweetheart and met my ex through work. He left me for her and she was knocked up literally a week later (she probably already had been) and he moved states away to move in with her. He still reaches out to me and he's miserable. He says he's bored of her and cheats on her. She deserves it and what did she expect when a cheater leaves someone for you? They are both vile human beings and I wish them nothing but the worst. Same goes to you Mark.

It’s always weird when a married man confides in a much younger woman about the problems in his relationship with his wife. I’ve had a couple of men do that with me and my inner dialogue is always, why are you telling me all this? Yes, I read that he admitted to a previous affair. I am not taking away his responsibility for his actions, but society needs to realize the there are men in the world who should be bachelors indefinitely; they are not marriage material. We are all raised with this idea that if we don't get married, we have failed in some way; however, not everyone is cut out to be in a long-term, committed relationship and he clearly was not. Some people should just date and that way when they feel like they don't want to put in the work to make a long term relationship work, both people can go their separate ways.

Mark is a creep! I saw the 20/20 episode in its entirety. He is culpable for this tragedy and has no remorse. He made my skin crawl with the things he said about his wife. Blaming her that she wrapped her whole life around him, isn’t that called marriage? He had zero connection/insight into how he devastated his wife. Funny thing is, young Meredith, with a little more maturity and time, would have seen what a weasel “catch” she had in Mark. If wife had given enough time, Meredith and Mark would have self destructed. I almost turned off the show because I was so sick of hearing from Mark but I endured to the end. I hope he was ostracized from friends, family and colleagues in the aftermath because he deserves it! What an imbecile (and I’m being generous)

When she said, "let's go for drinks" the answer SHOULD have been "No. I'm married". This bullshit, "I was confused by what was happening". Oh please. It's a piece of ASS. 🙄

When you make the person you marry the center of your world this happens. The person you marry is an ADDITION to your happiness... Should never BE your happiness.... Makes it a lot easier to move on....never ever think you can't live your life without someone..NEVER!!!!...

Everyone is bashing him, and he was very selfish. But her response was psychotic, no matter how devastated. Bugging a person, stalking and plotting to kill someone is disturbed. Many people face extremely traumatic situations and do not respond as she did. If my husband did that to me and I have been married 29 years, I'd say, bub-bye.

Mark: “I can’t explain how after only 1 month of meeting Meredith I said ‘I love you.’” Omg it’s called INFATUATION. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to recognize that he was living in a fantasy world.

Right. Raging hormones. Thinking with the little head. Mid-life crisis. If he had any integrity, he would have declined that job or left it after a very, very short time and never let his wife move there to have a front row seat to the situation and be lied to by him. She wasn't doing well to begin with and he knew that.
