Wow. This episode is again on OWN tv. I’ve seen it several times and used to sympathize with Mark. My eyes have been opened - he’s obviously agreed to the extensive 20/20 interview to promote his damn book. He’s a sociopath who hasn’t taken responsibility for HIS actions as a cheat and liar. He’s very good at deflecting and leading us to believe that his wife was crazy and his girlfriend was a saint. And he’s of course the victim of circumstance? WOW. The balls.

After 8 years together, my husband and I got pregnant. We had a son. Two years later I found an old phone that he used. Not sure what told me to check it. I found out that during my pregnancy and even shortly after my son was born, he had been with 21 different women. I went crazy. I did not hurt him although I wanted to. I blamed myself for years until I accepted that he has a problem and I finally left him. As a person, you have to know when to close a chapter. People will only do to you what you allow them to do.

Does he not know that just ONE of those women could have been a psycho and killed you, him, or BOTH of y’all. It’s happened plenty of times. Men are sick selfish bastards. No need to lock it down and be a damn dog cheating with any and every one. And then he could have given you a sexually transmitted disease! Smh. Instead of communicating, men run elsewhere when unhappy. And even though they cheat left and right, they wouldn’t dare leave their wife for the other woman in most cases. So why cheat in the first place??? Marriage isn’t just about sex! It’s about sex, vision, understanding, compromise, encouragement and support. It’s a foundation in which no one should be able to destroy. Sex includes soul ties and all kinds of stuff smh

This guy shouldn’t have been allowed to tell most of the story. He’s a good for nothing, self-centered man who ruined two marriages and takes no blame (even though he insincerely says he does). He actually says in the end how he doesn’t forgive his deceased wife for the murder, not her suicide-a woman he was married to for 24 yrs-but wrote a sweet goodbye letter to Meredith, a woman he barely knew. 😑 what a piece of garbage.

Jennair’s story sounds like mine . Married 24 years , hubby begins affair with co-worker , I find her in our bedroom. No , I didn’t kill anyone , or threaten, etc. instead I had a major nervous breakdown . That was 17 ye@rs ago. They’re married and seem very happy but he has encountered serious health problems. He sees our grandson often . I’m So glad I didn’t kill anyone because I’d be sitting in jail for the rest of my life . I had a few nice relationships but chose not to get married again . Our son took it hard and got involved in drugs . Extra-marital affairs cause much damage . And the affairs continue because the law allows it and there is no financial loss in the divorce , blaming the abandoned spouse as someone who failed in their job. It’s a twisted situation and I pray for anyone who endures it. My friends and family helped me recover. It took ’ about 18 months .

Unlike the woman in this case who was so weak and had such little about herself that she couldn't live without this guy and accept him being happy with someone else, couldn't move on and have a life of her own, to hell with their children. The Betty Broderick saga on speed. Unlike Broderick whose deterioration from jilted wife to enraged killer took years, Jennair went from loving spouse to suicidal-killer from 0 to 100 in a flash. Undoubtedly, her trying to be party to every intimate detail of her husband's affair accelerated everything. I have a great deal of sympathy for Jennair up until she pulled the trigger. Having your entire life turned upside because of the selfishness and immaturity of someone you viewed as your closest friend and the love of your life. That's brutal. Still, Jennair's obsession to listen in on her husband trading her in for a younger model was a bad path to go down on. Without children or a career and alone in a new area, Jennair had little to occupy her mind or time when her husband blew-up her life. It led her to a very dark place.

The wife should have just said "Ok." Got an attorney, moved, started a new life of rejuvenation without such a selfish jerk in her daily life. She would have gotten clarity and the narc would have lost his 'audience' (her), while she thanked the stars above for the blessing in disguise. His side chick was as wicked as him. The wife needed someone (family/friend) to take her out of the vicinity so she could have clarity. The scumbags getting their jollies off of betraying her deserved each other!

This guy should have NEVER gotten into a relationship outside of his marriage in the first place. He should have recognized he was no longer happy in his life as a married man and ended it with as much respect as possible. No other woman should’ve been involved. Imagine the outcome if he would’ve went about it that way instead of months of lies, manipulation, and deceit.

I’ve watched this episode twice but even the first time I saw this, he sure kept throwing his wife under the bus. Like he forgot why his wife was so upset and losing her mind. He betrayed her from the moment he had lust for the other woman and it wasn’t the other woman’s fault either. It was his own doing and because he started an affair and told his wife he’s in love with another woman, is deeper than a heartbreak. It’s your soulmate leaving your side that has been by you always. You don’t see it coming and it can shock the life out of someone who never thought in a million years, the love of your life stopped having love for you. He is that guy who traded his wife for a younger woman. If he already did stop loving her before he met the other woman, he should have respected his wife and waited till after their divorce instead of making his wife know he’s already moved on and is in love with someone else. That’s a huge slap in the face for anyone to do that to their spouse or in any kind of relationship. Some people just can’t be alone and start a new relationship with someone else before the furniture is split, and the ink is dry. He seem to make it all his wife’s fault and still made her look bad after her death. He only regretted after she was dead and looked like a victim, “I’ll be ok, I’m coping each day, I feel bad, I should have or haven’t…” all kinds of “poor me” attitude about him. His wife and his new girlfriend didn’t deserve it. He walked both of them right his drama and looked what happened. Very sad all around.

I hate to say it, but Mark’s great “new romance” was nothing but a cliche. He’s a middle aged dude who fell for a woman nearly young enough to be his daughter. Worse, he treated his wife like an old pair of shoes to be discarded once he found a new, trendier version. His selfishness ruined so many people’s lives. Thankfully they had no kids that would be forced to live with this. He might have emerged from this blameless in the eyes of the law, but he certainly is no victim. When he interviewed in Denver and something told him not to take the job - that something was his “little” head. He knew better and now two talented women are dead.

Wray Rae NEVER, EVER. If I were that miserable I would end my own life and leave everyone else alive & well. I got pulled into the middle of an extremely nasty custody dispute that played out over several years. It also got quite personal. Another client actually asked me if I was interested in having the problem parent “taken out.” I couldn’t believe my ears. The whole point of the dispute was the welfare of those kids. Having one of their parents killed was going to help those kids how? When I thought about it later I realized that it could very well have been a set up. Anyway, as I get older I find myself less & less able to understand how some people think.

Jennair didnt work on getting her relationship back on track, HE DID. Instead from the get go she used her time and energy on planning how to destroy him. I know all too well the pain of infidelity I know it doesn't give anyone the right to kill another but I know the deep unbearable pain you go thru can put thoughts like that in your head and for a brief moment you actually feel some relief. Unfortunately this "man" handled EVERYTHING wrong. It's obvious he didn't have it in him to be with someone who was struggling professionally. He wanted to be rid of his wife and she was not given the time to take it in. What many women gave difficulty with is finding out the man did not love them as we loved them and are able to so cold heartedly toss us out in a way we never could do to them.

It's uncanny how much this woman, Jennair, resembles Sigourney Weaver. (I'm also wondering why she was named after luxury kitchen appliances. I can't get that out of my head.) When the voicemail (or taped recording) of her speaking to her husband is played, it's sad to hear how much pain she was in, and how alone she felt. People who have affairs are so selfish! They hurt so many people. I'd be interested in hearing from Meredith's husband. I wish that he would speak out. I wonder what Mark's motivation is in doing this - catharsis/ remorse, trying to reach those that will no longer speak to him, or just the financial incentive from prime time interviews, book deal offers, and the possibility of selling film rights.

The husband and the mistress, are responsible for the sad end.

So many women get cheated on, most don't murder. It's not normal. The husband it mostly to blame for the situation because he broke a promise but the ultimate end is a result of the wife. We should be stable enough to handle heartbreak without killing. It's not normal or remotely acceptable.

Jammzy I’m disturbed by the amount of people who are forgetting that Jennair MURDERED the side chick... cheating is wrong and the situation was born from cheating but DAMN. Cheating and MURDER are not on the same level! Last time I checked we don’t sentence people to death for cheating in this country! I feel bad for the wife but damn unless you’re defending yourself or someone else there is NEVER a good reason to KILL someone!

@@Alexandra_K_ I know...it's insane but I don't think most of them mean it and those that do have probably been cheated on. I know people and have who have been the side piece. I don't approve but if they were killed, I would be sad...I think that's normal...lol

@@davidyatesmckay I Maybe if they were in the situation they would have common sense. If their friend or family member was the victim/mistress, they wouldn't feel the same way. It's almost as if they don't understand the seriousness or finality of death. The wife was not justified in killing her but I can understand her wanting her dead. I can't understand these strangers wanting her dead. ...

When you jump into an already established marriage, you don't know which part you will end up with because the marriage was meant for 2. So Meredith got the "til death do us part, part. But she got her wish to be part of someone's marriage.

My ‘BFF’ from the time I was 17 years old was a couple. They were together almost 40 years, I was with her up until she died. I was the only one she wanted around her (female-wise.) Loyalty means something. If you can look in the mirror after you’ve messed with a married human being (no matter what comes from their end) you need therapy.

Anyone else notice how 20/20 has changed it up a bit? The music, the EXTRA aerial shots, because there were sometimes one or two but now, Jesus. The tone of the editing, the ALMOST opinion of the interviewer, which traditionally in journalism you shouldn’t feel at all one way or the other, just straight up facts. It’s definitely changed and I would assume it’s because of the boom of Netflix and their documentaries and documentary series and how they are produced. Meanwhile 20/20, which has been on since the 70s lol is over here like hey girl look at us, we’re on fleek! Isn’t that what they say over at Netflix? Because we’re just as cool as them. Basically like the aunt who puts wine in a coffee mug so no other adults know what it is, with a wink, when your 17 at thanksgiving.

I wish people could end their marriages 1st before getting involved in a relationship. Go to counseling and give your marriage a shot. Before you replace your mate with a newer model. Put yourself in the mates shoes how would you feel if instead of you finding a prettier, younger mate, but she or he did. Would you still be ok, with that choice? Because I promise you, you will still have problems. Trading out your mate for a younger model does not make problems go away.
