Yet again confirming what I've believed since my first visit to Botswana 25 years ago - it's the greatest country on this planet.

Interesting to see a country where the leadership of women is embraced this much. The dialogue with the women is blowing my mind.

"emang basadi" is a phrase on our national anthem urging women to strengthen up and have strong input as well towards tve building of the nation. Botswana believes in a woman that builds a nation. "Mosadi ke thari ya sechaba". Women are very instrumental in all areas of development as well.

I was in Botswana in 2014, 2019 and 2022 visiting my grandparents. I noticed women there are treated equally in the work place. It's just a Southern African thing because I've seen the same in South Africa, Botswana and Eswatini. Not forgetting also that they have one of the most beautiful women on the planet🤤😂

I am a Igbo business woman living in the USA and it is so refreshing to watch this. I have always believed that they day Nigerians abandon the mindset of patriarchy that was forced upon them by the British and all these Abrahamic religions and encourage more women in leadership is the day the will see that country start to transform. Many African societies pre colonialism was built around a dual leadership structure, we had powerful Queens and Kings that ruled together. I will definitely be visiting Botswana this year and looking forward to immersing myself with these beautiful people.

We definitely need a lot of women in Nigerian leadership. Despite the benefit, the corrupt system tends to frustrate those that try to come up. I almost cried when i saw a video of a woman in the senate meeting speaking passionately on how her efforts were being frustrated by her colleagues, including the speaker (or the person listening to her petition that day) who took bribe to dismiss the case tendered by her. We cannot continue this downward spiral of decadence as it is affecting us negatively in all aspects of the Nigerian economy and living standards. If not for the late Mrs Dora, our pharmaceutical sector would have been in shambles. She held a fight against fake drugs and fake consumables in the country. These are some of the mindset that women can bring to leadership in terms of empathy, to help develop policies that would benefit the country at large.

I greatly appreciated and benefited from this piece. I visited Botswana recently and fell in love with the country’s peacefulness, naturalism and warmth. I recently retired and Was in the market for a home away from my birth home (USA). I was leaning towards Botswana and now after seeing this coverage of Botswanan women in positions of leadership I’m even more excited about the possibility of Botswana as a second home for me.

Dope video and good to see African women taking on leadership roles. I have to say that over the last few decades a lot have change in Africa and there are many countries with many women occupying high leadership roles from Rwanda/Tanzania/Ethiopia/Seychelles/Liberia etc... but there still more to do to make sure that women in Africa and the wider world are treated with the same fairness and respect as men.

Wow, Botswana is such a wonderful example to the rest of the region (and continent) in terms of its policies and how much it's doing for its people.
