Angstrem Levi is just lost in the memories of all the various versions of himself. And in most of those versions, Mark sided with his father. So he has a majority of memories telling him Mark is evil, a small amount where he's not, and his original memories are just somewhere in the mix. That's 1000 versions of himself that he's mixed with. I think that Mark's paralyzing Eve could be seen as how the Viltrumites treat their conquered worlds. They make them powerless and then take care of them. Naturally, they'll eventually run out of resources and be disposed of, but yeah.

It's interesting you mention the parallels between the viltrumites and angstrom. More like the opposite I'd say he embodies a similar sort of "salvation" as them, he doesn't care about actually saving people he just wants to BE the savior. By the time it took him to devise his plan he could have already gathered a vast library of knowledge and gifted people from other dimensions access to it so that they may be able to use it to help their worlds and even expand upon it but instead he gets fixated on being the one to build this "Utopia". I agree with you in that he is very similar to Kang and, had Mark not interfered, it's very possible that Angstrom could have easily become a Kang level threat.

My theory is that this proves our Mark has the strongest mind of all multiversal Invincibles. Other Marks probably fought back against Omniman at first. But when people face physical damage beyond ceratin limit, their will can be broken. That's how torture works. But unlike most Invincibles, our Mark wasn't broken by Omniman's abuse. We don't know if our Mark is strongest physically, but he probably has strongest will.

Omni-Man tells Robot he should have died at birth because Robot was born super deformed. The Viltrumites are like the Greek Spartans with powers. Survival of the fittest is everything to them. Robot is super smart but seemingly none of his weapons or robot drones can fight Nolan or Mark so Robot is considered a weakling.

As far as the pet thing goes, it’s flimsy even coming from Nolan, and it’s flimsy because he was lying to Debbie and himself. Like, the lifespan thing, sure. But we don’t love something because it lasts forever, and we definitely don’t have the same degree of emotional intimacy with a pet as we do with a partner. Also yeah, you don’t fuck your pets. Ideally.

True, but his culture and origin is literally alien. That alone means their way of viewing and processing the world isn't completely different from our own. And for a lot of people, there is an equal, or greater, level of attachment for their non-human companions than their human ones. Because ultimately, that's what pets are: companions who enrich our lives for the comparatively brief period of time they are with us. Fucking a pet (or any animal) is wrong, fundamentally so because animals can't consent. But humans can, so there isn't a perfect non-human pet:human and human pet:Viltrumite ratio, because there isn't an animal on Earth that shares our level of consciousness. Also living for hundreds of thousands of years means that any humans you interact with live out their lifespan in the blink of an eye. Nolan calling Debbie a pet was him trying to explain his love for her in the context of his long lifespan; sure, it makes him seem like an arrogant asshole, but what other way is there of describing a companion whose life coincides with yours for less than a fraction of it.

@@banwaita6723 I’m not talking about attachment, I get people love their pets, I spent two months looking for a missing cat once. I’m talking about emotional intimacy between partners. You can’t talk to your pet, I mean you can, and I do, but it doesn’t understand and it doesn’t talk back. You can’t share things with it in the same way and have it share things with you. I know what Nolan was trying to do, and it wasn’t contextualize his very real and uncomplicated love for Debbie, he was trying to lie to himself and make it easier for him to throw her away. Nolan had never had a relationship like that before, Viltrumites don’t even have sex for recreational purposes. Nolan literally had nothing to compare it to so he’s definitely not honestly comparing her to a pet. Some of this is comic knowledge but yeah, it’s not an honest statement on his part, no matter how many people try to say “but the long lifespan though.” He was severing ties, as cruelly as he could manage, so he couldn’t go back.

Brown Also, you're the first reactor to notice that Rudy was still in his original body and determine from that to realize this was a parallel world. There were plenty of people who thought it was a flash forward until Angstrom Levy shows up to free the Maulers

Sometimes I wonder where Nolan is going I think he’s going back to his planet and probably telling his leaders to send someone else to finish his job I wonder what’s gonna happen might be good or bad. I think mark needs to train more if he’s ever gonna stop his dad and his people because they are ruthless and cold

"The father's sins pass to his son" comes to mind with everyone that knows what happened that day. Also I imagine people who want to give Mark the benefit of the doubt are asking themselves "What if Nolan wanted to help people at first and as literally everyone around him dead over and over again, he became this? What if Mark does the same?" Being as extremely long lived as their people can become must come with a mental breaking point eventually if you have nothing to keep you straight all those millennia after millennia. Nolan has had his mission. Mark will only really has his father who is now a monster to him. If anything, people might be afraid he'll be worse than Nolan.
