6 months ago i bought my first racing bike, emonda sl6 pro 21. I ride it 15 days and i had to go back to work. I had some cheap mtb bikes before. I never tought that you can travel so fast and comfortable, you just sit on it and drive drive....amazing experience. In july im coming back and i can not wait to ride again my new bike🙂 Gratulations to Trek team company👍🏻👍🏿👍🏻

Just bought an emonda sl7 2022 new on sale in dublin, ireland. It is simply a stunning bike to cycle. It eats the hills, is lightning quick yet extremely comfortable. Better than a giant defy and canyon endurance I previously owned.

I've now had 2 Emonda SLR 9 eTap AXS...so obviously I absolutely love them. My biggest question for Trek is why do all this work to maximize the aerodynamics, but then stick with this almost 10 year old round seatmast cap. Surely even just using a "D" shaped seatpost would have saved a few more watts. And also I work in the industry, so I'm well aware of just how many Trek models use (current and older models) the round seatmast cap. It's honestly one of my only complaints about the newer Emonda SLR. I know it makes it easier for Trek, but adding 2 more SKU's (aluminum and carbon seatmast versions) can't be that hard. So I'd love to hear the reasoning from Trek.

18 watts of drag improvement is seriously impressive. That would put it in the category of Swork Tarmac. Which is surprising given the seat tube and seatpost are still tradition round tubes. Not sure if thats just the result of the frame or with the contribution of the new integrated handlebars and wheels.

I owned the previous rim brake version of the Emonda SL5, and I absolutely loved it. My first proper road bike we went on many adventures here in Japan. Got it down to about 8kg, so was easy to carry on the trains in a special bike bag to head out to the mountains. If I bought an Emonda again it’d be this new model for sure, they’ve addressed all of the areas I’d critique especially the cables and disc brake only with wider tyres. I’m now riding the new Domane SL5 and with the aero I’m constantly surprised at how many PRs I’ve picked up on segments without realising it. Would love to see a Domane idea like this in the future, Madone too.

@@antonhelsgaun I absolutely love mine. I keep up with friends on fast city rides and have taken a ton of new PRs. It’s super comfortable on all day rides which was really noticeable on my biggest day of 201km. Ability to run up to 38mm tyres is a game changer, and I run a set of road 32mm and another wheel set of 35mm knobby tyres (wish I’d gone 38 but was thinking of mudguards). The bike is a bit heavier than Emonda. If the newest Emonda released at the same time I might’ve gone Emonda, but no regrets on Domane. Maybe test ride both to compare? I’ve a few ride videos with Domane on my channel.

This seems similar to the KVF design from a few years ago upgraded with disc. The prices at 33% higher for the SL6 which used to be $2499 for the rim brake and now costs $3299 for this new design with disc brakes. Trek seems to alternate between oval tubes and the aero tube shapes every few years. In addition, all their bikes have gotten heavier with disc brakes. The old Emonda SLR6 to my recollection was 14.75 lbs and was in the $6000 range. I don't think you can find anything that low weight anymore without paying $10k or more.

I purchased EMONDA SL6 pro. The screw which constraints the turn of the handlebar was broken. Thus the turn went beyond the limit and the ring marked go-go-go hitted the frame. The paint got damaged. I brought the bike to my supplier and they talked to TREK. TREK installed a new screw and new ring go-go-go. TREK didn't want to repair the scratches on the paint of the frame caused by the limitless turning. Now I have a new super bike with scratches on the frame. I didn't expect that from TREK. Low customer support and poor warranty. Bad experience. I feel dissapointed. The bike itself is a super bike but the warranty service does not work as it should.

Sorry to hear about this! Our warranty does cover defects in manufacturing, but without knowing the cause of this bolt breaking, I can't speak for it. We suggest talking to your dealer to get assistance with locating a close matching touch-up paint for your scratches, otherwise, these may be able to be buffed out.

@@trekbikes My dealer (Probike, Barcelona Spain) stated TREK can't do anything else about the scratches. Scratches are the outcome of a broken bolt during manufacturing or installation. They sold me the bike without constraints in the handlebar turning. Nobody from Probike paid attention on that detail. I discover it by myself when scratches appeared. Then I found the issue. Firstly I tought it was an engineering deffect. I called Probike and brought them the bike and one of their mechanicians stated the bolt was broken. I feel deeply frustrated. TREK should provide dealers with some product training in order to avoid similar situations in the future. Moreover TREK customer support is not handling issues as expected. This is my second TREK bike and will be the last one if TREK doesn't fix this up.

@thegarybains

The thing with defund police is that’s it too high risk. Imagine all the calls the police answer domestic abuse, house parties going to crazy, pulling over drunk drivers, ticketing distracted drivers, arresting people who are disturbing the peace etc etc...it’s hard to put a figure to how many lives the police save everyday. So even if only 90 % of police are good and 10% are bad- and those bad 10% kill 100 people a year but the 90% save 1000 people - it’s not perfect but it’s the best way we could do it. Now if we defund the police there would be anarchy...it would be the old world in the 1800s crime would become monopolized by the few...the world would not be better. What we need is more funding for the police, they need more training - cops should be situation trained twice a month.
@patrickroldan1336
@patrickroldan1336 4 жыл бұрын
Gary Bains the (reported) numbers show police consistently kill 1000 people each year, a number staying steady since 2015. defunding the police is not a call to remove the police presence, it is a call to change the way we approach our society. we wouldn't need to "invest" as much as we do as a society in the police if we would just fund better education and better social workers. think about how we as a society with our hard earned tax dollars could affect disadvantaged communities if a majority of our money went to actually teaching our children crucial life skills to keep them off the street? to keep them from growing up and thinking drinking while driving or texting while driving is okay? I see more people texting while driving. I see more people in cars harassing people who ride bikes and purposefully putting them at risk. But police never catch them. they rarely if ever ticket those people. Having reasons to arrest or threaten people for minor infractions is not a valid excuse for having a disproportionally funded police system
@thegarybains
@thegarybains 4 жыл бұрын
Let’s see what happens - Nypd is cutting 1 billion from the police budget. Now that’s not a whole lot from their overall budget, but 1 billon dollars should provide sizeable increase in funding for the programs you mentioned. Let’s circle back in 3 years and see what the results are.
