They should like parrots be able to sit on the shoulder of the player, would love if mojang inputs this mechanic so the allay can give u the items by returning to youre shoulder and collect them when u set them off it.

I think they will make their actions for new items that have just existed, delayed. So when you mine a block the allay waits 5 seconds and then takes it if you didn't take it. That seems like a great solution that i assume they will implement.

@@aliabusaleh419 I think the easier solution is just make Allays immune to tool damage (meaning axe, shovel, pickaxe, hoe) and lava damage. They already have the backend to track what damage comes from what source to that level of specificity.

they also spawn in outpost cages so mansions are still kinda useless

@@toast4093 It seems though that Allays spawning in outposts are a low probability. As Jordan said he had to go to 5 different outposts till he found them. Plus if you want an army of Allays, you can sometimes get multiple jailroom rooms in mansions

@@dingas5632 yeah like in the first place you can't get them so you need to pillar up to get them and if you've already pillared up a good 20 blocks then you certainly have enough to make a small platform to not have the ores and stuff fall.. or better yet just get them when you come back down

I think they use the bat flying mechanic and not the bee, cuz bee usually avoid water and lava

This reminds me when Axolotls was first added they would not pathfind to water so they just died or something they also wouldn't pathfind away from lava as well

Yup and map makers making genius ideas.

Allays are kind of too slow, compared to the advanced redstone farms that exist late game. They will easily get overwhelmed with the multitude of drops, not to mention they throw items one by one, not in a bunch. They can be useful mid game though.

@@SaiMC1 that is because noteblocks provide what redstoners constantly use in their contraptions; single observer outputs, unlike redstone dust, which flickers on and off. The allay on the other hand, throws items one by one is a great speed, even if it picks all the items at once, so that slows it down.

Can't see a way to do the item sorter in the current version. You can control what they pick up, yes. But you can't designate specific allays to specific noteblocks, so you would end up with every one of them droping to the last one they heard.

Having a dropper spitting out entities probably creates just as much lag as a hopper chain...

@@ogokuru The first one is more hypothetical tbh. But if you had multiple noteblocks hooked up to different areas, you could just give the Allay a specific item, flip a lever that activates a certain noteblock redstone clock which the Allay brings over to and drops in. Its not 100% automatic, and I’m sure there’s smarter ways to do it, but its just a thought.

That is just my hypothetical way of doing it as a person that isn’t a redstone genius, nor has even tested the Allay LOL

There should also be a way that they imprint onto the note block permanently or at least for a long period of time.

It is very small and with 2 equally small hands, it could not handle so much.

Fitting for a trash mob... Or you know just drop it all for it to despawn or into fire/lava... Or if you want that automatic then just filter out what you don't want before putting items in storage

They're not gone forever. During MineCon Live, we got Mountains over Swamps. The swamps will be updated in 1.19. So maybe, copper golems will make their way to the game.

And even then there are already countless articles and crap for the best most spaced out placement for torches to prevent mob spawning... All 3 are useless period

I can see these guys (provided their AI/pathing improves) help create WAY more condensed farms, since you could avoid having to use hopper minecarts, saving you at least 2 vertical blocks in your overall farm. Or let's say you're on an AFK flying machine-tunnelbore, the Allay could gather the items and drop them in your inventory whilst you're letting your game run.

Especially Tree Farm, cuz you don't need to wait to pick up the sapling and logs

I've been thinking about this, but an problem I see is Allays require hearing their noteblock every 30 seconds to constantly register it as their favorite. If there aren't any mob drops within 30 seconds, by the time the Allay gets a mob drop it will forget it's favorite noteblock and go to the player instead.

@@DatJaneDoeArchive they are talking about mob farms, thats a static position, you just trap them in an enclosed space with the noteblock on a repeating redstone signal. unless you mean having them stick to their block as a filter (with multiple allays and different noteblocks), yes that would be difficult or not possible currently. At the very least though, its a system where you dont need water or lots of hoppers to transport items out of a mob, or any other kind of farm.

@@PACAD318 I honestly would like allays be able to phase through blocks so we wouldn't have to worry about them being stuck in certain areas or contruct farms in certain ways to make their pathfinding easier (it's a win win for the developers and the players)

@@sebastiengendron6427 for that to be useful, you would have to have a way to anchor them to a spot, if they can just phase through walls, then you wouldnt be able to use them in any kind of farm as they would just come to the player.

@@TherandusGaming maybe there could be certain blocks they can't phase through like deepslate, obsidian and glass for example. The noteblock could also be an anchor, they will travel a limited amount of blocks from it or the player can set the tune of the noteblock to get different behaviour patterns from the allay.
