One would've thought that people in Star Trek would've learned by now that time travel *anything* is a baaaaad idea...Honestly, I think this, along with Midnight and Butterfly, was one of my favorite episodes in STO simply because of how neatly they tied up some of the loose ends and questions about the sphere builders, the Iconians, and their backstory, and also address the hubris of trying to make things better in the past instead of learning from it to do better in the future.

@@Eradicator-jv9xr hey doesn't the star trek lore says it only take 2 isotons to destroy a whole earth sized planet. aslo the canon maximum yield of a standard issue photon torpedo is 20 isotons! that is still 10 times more than needed to destroy a earth sized planet. so techly if the star wars death star fights one on one against any federation of united planets starship it would only take one photon torpedo only at roughly 10% of max yield to just blow up a whole death star in one shot. so techly it's actually cannon that a single max yield photon torpedo can in fact blow up 10 whole planets in warhead yield output alone. the only canon real reason most things don't blow up in a single max yield photon torpedo hit in star trek is bescue all the ships in the serers all have shields more than strong enough that can withstand far higher yields than that with their output. so tecly any fully shielded planet in star trek would just shrug off even full powered starwars death star superlaser particle beam attacks without flinching that much and then fire back with one 10% max yield photon torpedo braaige to vaporize a whole star wars galactic empire fleet with both death stars and a few hudanid star disdoryiers in just a few seconds. this is all logical observation that i have done with basically research and basic math i did just looking up the already established star trek cannon. so bascly in a nut shell is every photon torpedo in star trek are all planet destroying WMDs even at just 10% or 1/10 max yield output.

Well, I think this temporal erasing weapon is an utter overkill. It is like dropping a nuke at the capital of an enemy country that's blast wave even dangerous to your country. I think they should have picked a more humble piece of krenim temporal tech that can be more easily reproduced and distributed in the alliance yet it still gives the upper hand. For example that temporal displacement cloaking tech that the krenim used to shield their installements. I think it is more then enough to turn the tide of the war if widely distributed. With this they can literally put an antimatter warhead in front of an Iconian without the Iconian noticing it (and then of course decloak it and immediately explode it). Also if the Iconians capture the tech, then they can use it due to their temporal weakness.

Looking a Federation registry numbers I would guess Starfleet has somewhere between 30,000 and 70,000 ships. More speculatively and arbitrary, I would presume the Klingons have around 1/3rd to the number of ships as Starfleet and the Romulans about 1/12th of Starfleet. War has nothing to do with good or evil but typically what humans want or think they need. Russia is attacking the Ukraine. Why? Because Russia is insecure about it's borders and wants to push those borders until they do feel secure. But feelings are driving forces and can be perceived as good or evil. But the truth is it is simply a natural response.

I'm surprised no one pointed out what taking the Iconians out of the time stream would do and how much it would affect EVERYTHING... There's a problem with taking them out because they were "the first race" of the seeds from the Progenitors. There would likely always be a "First race" that had outmatched influence compared to the other races so you could change the whole universe because there would always be a first race it would just change what race it would be. There's only one other race you could take out of the time stream that would have a bigger impact and that would be the Progenitors themselves.

@dongadson10994 жыл бұрын
Don't sell your weapons, ship parts, and unwanted item...salvage them. The salvage and resources gained from it will come in handy at higher levels. Covert your dilithium ore every day. Do dilithium missions every day as well. Use it for fleet purposes and mostly for your 'Reputation' tab. Use the U,D,L,R keys when mining dilithium ore or scanning/harvesting anomalies instead of using the mouse. There is also an exploit that allows you to transfer dilithium from one account to another(check it out). Do your crew/roster missions every chance you get. Crew missions also gives opportunities to give ship and ground buffs. Join a fleet to level up and gain resources faster. Give your whole crew split beam rifles. Take advantage of making your own gear, weapons, and ship parts when you're 'level eligible'. You can easily make weapons and parts with one character and mail them to your other character profiles. An example, I made a brand new char. Before I used that char, I would mail resources like gas, metals, and particles from my lesser chars to my level 65 Jem'Hadar char. I would then use those resources to make weapons and gear. I then mail the newly created gear to my brand new char(all blue/purple quality or higher). Any store bought ships can be use by same faction characters, too...meaning if you bought a 'tier' ship with a Starfleet character, you can just download that same ship with another fleet faction char. I'm missing a lot of advice, but that's all I could think of at the moment. Hope that helps.
@jacknightfury_61324 жыл бұрын
@@dongadson1099 Thanks a lot for the advice. I knew about the fact that I can claim ships I bought for one char with another character. But it still helps with getting better at the game. Sorry, can't help myself, but wtf is Kagran thinking? At 11:54 he blurts out that the alliance needs to strike the Iconians now. After hearing about the temporal weapon not being ready, he seems to think that throwing the weight of the fleet against the enemy is their only option. But why? It accomplishes nothing; the Iconians have superior numbers, technology, firepower, and the ability to gate in to pretty much anywhere they want. Any major offensive is going to get swarmed and decimated, as it's shown in-game, and anyone with a brain could see it coming. They have multiple spheres, fleets, and plenty of Heralds that would survive any single attack, and that's IF the alliance stood a chance in hell of cracking the shell of a sphere, which they don't. In fact, the only reason anything close to progress is accomplished is due to a stroke of luck involving a gateway left behind by an Iconian ship; without which no entry into the Sphere was possible. If anything, the next thing the player does (kill an Iconian) only makes the enemy even more committed to winning through brutality. The assault was a complete failure, no question about it. Personally I would have shot Kagran after the battle. He leads one of the worst assaults in-game against an enemy he can't beat head-on and has no real reason to do so. Tom Paris shows that hit-and-run tactics work before this battle, and really all the Alliance needs to do is delay the enemy until the temporal weapon is ready. Instead they lose most of the fleet, several thousand personnel, and good luck defending the worlds of "civilians" without those ships and crew now. I know it's a year-old vid, about a video game, and it's not worth it. But I don't care, it baffled the hell outta me and was the dumbest moment in-game I'd ever seen. No shade intended to CI.
