THANK YOU Warren for hitching up with the ABB and elevating them again.. Same goes for the late great Alan Woody.. phenomenal bassist. @mr.bluzhound28754 жыл бұрын
I’m going to have to agree, not to disparage Derek and his enormous talent in any way. Warren is a damned good player and a damned good slide player. He has an ear for the ‘sound’ and an ear for the ‘style’ of what Duane ‘might have done’. Playing off of Dickey was pretty natural - at least the rest of the band acted like it was. Allen was a fine fiddle player too, but when you mess with sticking needles in your arms every day bad things happen. Greggs voice was still awesome at this time too.

Amazing archive stuff!!!! ..... But why is half the world obsessed with who's better than who?!! So many of these classic uploads are followed by crazy arguments about X is better than Y, or A kicked B's ass - just listen to the music and give thanks! ABB never had a bad guitarist, and more importantly they never had a bad COMBINATION - which is what they were all about. The interplay and harmony and sympathy between the two lead guitars is what defined ABB music - and what made this band withstand the test of time. Sure, they had great vocals, bassists and drummers - but it was the twin leads that set this band way above so many others. And the vision of one true Blues genius to put it all together in the first place. RIP Duane Allman - your contribution to 60's/70's Blues Rock was immense but way too short. But what a mark you left on those of us that heard you at the time.
