Absolutely beautiful! Such craftsmanship, I M so glad I found your channel. I’ve recently tried braking, sanding & polishing pieces of abalone shell to place in costume Jewellery, but I never realised how hard it was to cut! I have even tried hand held metal tin cutters, which did not help much! Now I know why the little pots of pieces are so expensive!

The dust from abalone shells (and pearls) is extremely toxic! Fine particle dust masks should be worn when cutting abalone shells. Also, proper ventilation is a must, as is wet grinding. The men in this video have been exposed to a serious health risk!

I learned as a young lad while in the Navy about purchasing custom hand-made boots in the Orient. They are high-quality and should last for a lifetime. Far superior to the West's factories whose designs were to fail soon after manufacture to keep you in the market all too often today. The American production lines rely on "planned obsolescence" as a means to maintain repeat customers. Before the Japanese invasion of cheap yet superior cars in the late seventies and early eighties, Detroit was bulletproof until they found true competition and the public smacked Detroit silly. I had no pity on Wall Street whatsoever for they got what they deserve. Too bad, so sad. Then Reagan added insult with his economic policies that punished ma and pop businesses and allowed Walmart-type operations on every street corner. Just like Mcdonalds'... huh?. Of course, that favored the Chinese who gained "Preferred Trading Partnership" status with America. They became rich as our "new" source of cheap goods and now are a true military threat. Good job, boys...not! We punish the public while funding Wall Street, at the exclusion of Main Street, and their constant wars to keep Wall Street thriving. You, on the other hand, must be satisfied with the crumbs on the table. The point is, to never expect to purchase cheap yet superior custom hand-made boots here in America while Wall Street is married to our government power. That is too fascist for me to ignore! After all, what the fascists of Wall Street failed in their botched coup against FDR in 1933, they got on Nov. 22, 1963. George "Dubya" Bush said they are too big to fail and he wasn't lying. Or at least on that issue.
