Anyone else thought that Fiona turned into an ogre at night because she's technically half frog? Hear me out on this. The frog was turned into a human with the help of magic and made a half frog/half human baby but the magic wasn't as stable in Fiona so she had to spend each night looking like a frog-like humanoid, which is basically what an ogre is. To explain to her why she turns green and plump each night her father made up a story that a witch cast a spell on her and told her that story so that's what she believes. However there was a known cure for her condition, which was falling in love and kissing someone, that would stabilize the magic forever and she would stay in a particular form forever. Since Fiona fell in love with the ogre and kissed him the magic stabilized her ogre form and the human form disappeared. Ofcourse the fairy god-mother wanted Fiona to kiss her son so she stays a human forever and he becomes king but Shrek got in the way :)

I personally believe the "curse" that was placed upon Fiona is actually what made her beautiful. King Harold, being truly a frog, most likely would've passed down his frog genetics to his offspring, thus giving Fiona green skin and a stout body type. The curse made it so only "true loves first kiss" would make her beautiful, but knowing the actual motivation of the curse her "true love" would only be Prince Charming, the spell was made so if by any chance someone else manages to save her their kiss would only turn her "ugly". If that happened she could easily cast a beauty spell on her so her child doesn't have to end up with an ogre as a wife. Another thing I noticed is that ogres are basically human/frog hybrids. From what we've seen ogres prefer to live in moist, swampy environments much like a frog, but look, act and live like humans.

The queen did know about the plan. She fell in love with a frog and she knew that he changed for her. Also Fiona's diary is covered with "Mrs. Fiona Charming" it's common for royals to be engaged very young. It was actually Fiona's father who locked her in the tower. And more likely, the fairy godmother's curse was meant to prevent other suitors from attempting to marry her before Charming was of age and able.

I guess you could make a theory of that ? Why is Farquad Charming Fairy godmother And That young guy in Shrek 3 that was supposedly picked to rule the kingdom ? Why aren't they there if Shrek was basically absent during that timeline at least ? Why isn't that altered in the present timeline ?

my theory, my theory, my theory!!!!! : fairy godmother put the deadly dragon to the castle, that was enchanted to kill any human, except Charming. she didn't expect an ogre to come rescue her, so Shrek 'defeated' the dragon and saved Fiona. why didn't Charming save Fiona in an alternate reality in Shrek Forever After??? because Harold signed his kingdom over to Rumpel, so Charming would not become king, even if he saved Fiona. so Fairy Godmother and Charming were cold and careless enough to leave Fiona in the castle to rot. Fiona then saved herself. :)))

The second time I saw Shrek 2 I was mind blown after Herald was turned into a frog. When Herald walked into the bar to find the assassin there was a girl frog who asked Herald "do i know you" Honestly I dont know if this has anything to go with in your theory but I find it interesting. The part about Queen Lillian makes even more sense when you realize that she and her husband would be the only 2 people to ever visit the tower, and they would be the only ones to put the information about Fiona in the mirror. Since the king wouldn’t do it because of his deal with the fairy godmother, Lillian obviously put it in there to get her back.

This is amazing. As a child I loved Shrek! I had all the movies and watched them all the time. I even kind of made up my own conspiracies based on this magical fairy tale world they live in (looking back, some were actually true). This video opened up my eyes more than ever and I will never view Shrek the same way again. I just love the concept of this "Fairy Tale world" and your conspiracy!

I’m five years late but, what if the Queen’s brother was having an affair with the fairy godmother. But then she realized that it would be impossible to take over by just being a side piece. So she realized that a certain frog was interested in the Queen and saw it as a way to get her claws on the kingdom. She found out she was pregnant so she turns him into a human and stroke a deal with him saying that his future daughter would marry her son. Another thing, why did charming take so long to rescue her? And as someone stated, Fiona wrote in her diary “Mrs Fiona Charming” a bunch of times, so what was the sense sending her to be locked in a tower. Another thing, we never see Charming’s father but him and the Queen has the same hair colour and we know hair colour has to deal with genetics also they both have blue eyes so they must be related through his father, which is her brother. But the reason why charming is not next in line because nobody knew about lilian’s brother’s affair with fairy godmother. But since he abdicated the throne and dropped arthur at the school, he would be next in line royalty. There are some many conspiracy holes and possible reasons as to why charming and his mother are hungry for power.

Charming didn't die, did he? Also did anybody ANYBODY else look at Arthur, and think "he looks just like Charming..could he had been the dad that walked out?" really the 2 looks similar.

RUPTURED TIMELINE THEORY During a scene of shrek 3 where arthur convinces the villains to be good, rumpelstinsky apears but he is a completely different person in this movie and in Shrek 4 where he is the main antagonist. My theory is that something ruptured the Shrek timeline giving birth to two different outcomes, Shrek 3 and Shrek 4 but what powerful force could do this? Merlin the messy wizard who abandoned being a professor at Worsestershire school because of "stress" and if I ruptured the timeline I would be "stressed" too. Further proof, is how Arthur even though he is the new king of Far Far Away and Fiona's cousin, he isnt invited to the birthday party of Shrek's children and never mentioned at all during the said film. And why would King Harold agree to make a pact with rumpelstinsky to save his daughter as stablished in Shrek4 if he was already part of the fairy godmother's plan? This theory fits perfectly in the timeline and fixes all plotholes in the Shrek films.

I have a theory about the Dispicable me universe. So could Lucy from the second movie be the little girl, Tina from the minion movie. So it starts with the apperence they look similer but tjat is obviously isnt enough so the second piece of evidence is Tina looks up to the villians in her magazine, and lucy tells gru "I shouldn't be saying this but I admire your work as a villain," meaning that Lucy could be like Tina and looks up to villians, then piece four the age would be certain because we see gru in the movie and assuming that lucy and Gru are the same age that would mean she would be that age, then piece four the names Tina's family are evil and rob banks, wich could mean that the family could eventually be caught and because Tina is a little girl the police decide to give her a new life but because of her crimes they decided to change her name to Lucy Wilde. One thing I kind of like is the spell cast on Harold was likely a disrupt magic spell, as I think the fairy godmother was trying to turn Shrek back into an ogre as an attempt to ruin Shrek's plan. Of course for Harold who was under spell to appear as a human it disrupted his transformation, reverting him back to a frog, but for the fairy godmother, an very inherently magical being, it disrupted her very existence, causing her to be destroyed.

BUT, the mirror knew that Fiona turns into an ogre at night, so how would the mom have put an advertisement in if she herself had no idea what happened to Fiona, also Fiona is very aware a prince was going to save her, which also might be something the witch told her in order to ensure the marriage between her 'son' and Fiona,,, just some thoughts.

fiona wasnt cursed to be an ogre, she was cursed to be a HUMAN! since her father was actually a frog in disguise and her mother was a human it would make sense that they're offspring would be the frog/human hybrid that people have dubbed an ogre. this is why at the end of shrek 1 the spell breaking kiss left fiona in her ogre form. even she didnt know that like her father she was cursed to appear human. makes you wonder if something similar happened to shrek that he doesnt know about.

Another fact worth mentioning is that even though she's unaware of the fairy godmother's plan, in the prologue of 'Shrek 4ever After', Lilian mentions that she doesn't trust her, which makes your theory about her advertising with the mirror more plausible.

Allways wonderd how Fionas frogdad could be king. A woman can marry into the role of queen but a man can only be prince by marrige unless you somehow unsurps the throne. What about with Rumpelstiltskin? Could is be that Rumpelstiltskin and the Fairy Godmother were once together-or maybe even related due to their thrist for power, and Prince Charming could be a messed up product of them that may actually be Rumpelsltiltskin 's swan, and since the Fairy Godmother is magical and Rumpelstiltskin can grant magic deals, could they of made a deal or put a curse on Prince Charming so that he'd change into swan at a certian timing, or he was once a Swan and they could of decided to change him into human to be their "son" to gain power, like with Fairy Godmother to have him as the new king so she can have complete power, and Rumpelstiltskin having a son who would go after Fiona and mess up the plan and get in Prince Faqar's way while trying to get fiona making enough time for the King and Queen to make their deal. Wouldn't this help explain why Rumpelstiltskin gives so much attention to his swan and shower it in love, because it is his son-Prince Charming who helped him with his plan in exceeding?

The good thing about the theory is that explains a plot hole in Shrek Forever After, Prince Charming never rescued Fiona even when he probably only took one more month that Shrek to reach the dragons castle. But if Fionas parents weren't the rulers of far far away, Charming had no reason for rescuing Fiona.

How would the fairy godmother foresee that the Frog Prince (aka King Harold) would have a daughter? And if your response is she has magical powers and could see the future then how did she not know that Shrek would come in and this plan wouldn't work. Also, you mention how easily it was for Charming to get into the castle to attempt to rescue Fiona. Well, the reason Charming may have got into the castle without a problem could be because it was shown at the end of Shrek 2 that Dragon was pregnant and with her being pregnant she may have physically not been able to fight charming. Also with Fiona gone, she may simply no longer live in the castle. and also if your claim was right then why did fairy godmother wait so long to have her son attempt to rescue Fiona. and last but not least why would the Fairy Godmother need to put a spell on Fiona when she could have simply given her a love potion so Fiona would fall in love with charming. Also, I have other reasons this theory is false but for now this is enough for this theory to be disclaimed (btw not a lot of evidence in your theory)
