The Amazing Spider-Man 2 - NYC Environment and Times Square Shot Build
We've always known that Spider-Man's most important conflict has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that his greatest battle is about to begin.
It's great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there's no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: Oscorp.

There was a lot of things that should have happened that didn't. Might have something to do with Disney as they where having meetings since the release of the first movie to try and figure out how to make Sony stop making Spider-Man movies so they could get Spider-Man in the MCU.

yeah, and this is the reason why the digital effect in this movie are amazing...otherhand maybe i live in the past where the movies had just a few cgi.. i thought same with deadpool, a movie with a poor script but amazing and incredibles effects.

The thing about deadpool is that the story is supposed to be rather poor but look good, that way the character is able to comment on it and break the 4th wall. deadpool was never about story, it was always about deadpool as a character.

@@peterbenjaminparker8572 The Cinematography, The CGI-VFX, The suit, Actors/Acting, Action Scenes, Web Slinging scenes, Peter and Gwen's relationship, Gwen's Death Scene. These are great things about Tasm2. I'm a hard tasm fan but Tasm 2 is a bad movie, and it is disappointment for me. Also, Ppl act like Everything is bad in TASM 2 but NO. Tasm 2 has so great things. It's not terrible ıt's mehhhh or bad. btw I feel sorry for ma bois Andrew Garfield and Marc Webb...

Indeed. I didn't know you loved the Amazing Spider-Man 2 as well! I thought I was the only one. I love Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland Spider-Man for fun but in the real world I will always feel connected with Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker. That's our 3D laser scan data used to make the Times Square scene look that accurate. Also our data to make Spider-Man and others fly above the city. Great project, glad to help.

Feel bad for Marc Webb, He had a clear, great vision for Spider-Man, then Sony had to interfere.... Marc Webb did an amazing job with 500 Days of Summer. I want a TASM trilogy without Sony interfering. Let the director have his freedom in making Movies.

The Franchise had Potential, the First Film mostly reached that Potential, but sadly the Second Film was a Downgrade. Would love to see Director's Cuts of both Films. Marc Webb and the Cast deserved better.

All that hard work...and the franchise is dead lol, just shows "A Special effect without a story is a pretty boring thing", hopefully no more parent scientist rubbish subplot with calculator coins or magic blood and thin motivations for villains, let's hope the next reboot isn't as much as a rehash as this was.

What's sad is that the Spider-Man itself was great. I think Tobey was the best Peter Parker, but this was the Spider-Man we deserved; the jokes, fighting style, etc. Too bad the story was weak and Sony had 0 planing for the franchise.

If you see the Sam Raimi movies they had to rig a camera to film in the city then add Spider-Man to the shot, which made the camera movements more restricted. Here because the city was full CGI they could animate the scene then do the camerawork, giving it more control over the camera angles and movement.

everything you see in the movie besides the actors are fake. except for a few shots of NYC streets and parks. Spiderman, and the New York skyline are all CGI. when you see spiderman swinging thru the city, its a CGI render of him. except when he's talking to the rhino guy while in pursuit. but the rest, when he's swinging its all CGI. even time square. its all digitally remade on computer. and the final fight between electro and Spidey and green goblin, its all CGI. in fact, when he's chasing the goblin when he takes Gwen, they're all CGI. Gwen, spiderman, electro, goblin, the set, etc.... the only parts that aren't CGI with the characters are when there's dialogue a simple close up action shots... Idk what makes you think its fake like the times square scene. it wasnt the real location.
