Teenage social outcast Peter (Andrew Garfield) spends his days trying to unravel the mystery of his own past and win the heart of his high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone). Yeah. Some kid stabbed someone with a pencil and also tried lighting some other kids shirt on fire (to be fair, kid in question was being bullied every day) but still, that's messed up. He got suspended each time. I didn't get suspended for punching my 8th grade bully out though, or dodgeball to the face another bully. Had this man on the floor crying lol

Agreed. If you don't stand up to fight the tyrant, they'll just keep being a tyrant. You never appease the oppressor, because you'll only be oppressed more. Now it's not even an issue of being weak and letting yourself get walked all over, it's an issue of other people suffering due to your own negligence (assuming you have the power to deal with said tyrant).

The exercise house in school is not just for sport. It's for many activities especially for important celebrations. She and her group paint for celebration's banner, other students are not allowed to do other things in the house but flash and his scumbag friends still try to play basketball in it. The school can make them pay for the damage they cause

This scene has some serious problems. It would make sense for Peter to get in trouble for smashing that backboard which was an accident, but the writers for some reason made him get in trouble for humiliating Flash, despite the fact they never got into a physical fight. What kind of writing is this? Who thought that would make sense? Then we have Uncle Ben thinking something is wrong with Peter even though he never punched Flash. This is Hollywood making the most laziest attempt at drama and it pisses me off.

Peter is one of the smartest students in the school so they’re definitely gonna cut some slack especially since it was an accident. At most he’d be suspended but he probably just got restricted from some activities. Also he didn’t need to punch flash to be taught a lesson by Ben. He was still bullying him by not letting them finish their game and making flash look like a fool. Revenge is the exact lesson uncle Ben would teach to Peter; not to pursue it

I love this scene and everything about Andrew and Emma, but this is why Andrew's Peter never worked for me. Peter Parker is a unathletic, bookworm who only ever truly finds his confidence when he's Spidey. Tobey's Peter captured that to a T. Meanwhile, this Peter is athletic, a skateboarder. He's much better looking than the people who try to bully him. I mean, imagine going up to bully the kid who looks like Andrew Garfield. I assure you, most of the popular crowd would want him with them because he'd be a chick magnet. But as a Spidey, Andrew is the best.

It should have been the other way around. Flash should have been getting in trouble for humiliating the 3 students and beating up Peter and Peter didn't really deserve to get in trouble just by humiliating someone...in my opinion of course
