Every member and associate of the mafia must be capable of inciting fear and committing violence These gangsters were the best at it. From having fearsome reputations to committing brutal acts of violence, they are the 30 most feared and violent gangsters in the American Mafia. This video covers number 2, the rest of the list has been, or will be covered in future videos.
2) Carmine "Lilo" Galante
This list is purely subjective. Some were left off of the list due to most of their work being done "independently" and not being attached to a single crew or family (Richard Kuklinski). Others were not included due to a large number of likely inaccurate claims made by said individuals (Frank Sheeran).

Just discovered this channel and wow, very accurate info on Lilo. Usually videos and books do not mention that Tresca may have been murdered under orders of Garofalo because Tresca embarrassed him. Little details like Galante having a life long love of flowers and plants, from tending to them in prison, is also not regularly reported. Great work, looking forward to checking your library and any new videos.

Thank you, I was able to find some good sources for this video. I really appreciate your feedback. I have recently gotten a new PC and Adobe creative suite which I will begin utilizing at the conclusion of this series which should hopefully improve production value. I felt like I should finish my last two volumes(#1 and mistakes, omissions and honorable mentions) of the series like I started to keep the feel the same. I think it’s important to note that Galante was an acting boss when Rastelli went away to prison in 76- tho he obviously viewed the position permanent. Massino would later testify that it was Galante who made him into the family and was at that time boss of the Bonnano’s.

@@philb.1502 he was also the undisputed acting boss on the streets. He wouldn’t have carried on for 5 years running one of the biggest drug trafficking networks ever if he wasn’t a legitimate boss. I don’t give a fuck how feared he is. That rule doesn’t go unanswered for that long if he genuinely broke it

That is a huge compliment. Narrating is has taken a lot of practice for me. When I started, I was recording 5-10 sec clips because I made so many mistakes. Now I am able to record in 30-60 second clips which speeds up the process. Thank you so much for watching and commenting.

Fact: The Mitsubishi "GALANT" was named after him due to the fact that they last long and as soon as you think they're done they come back same as strong as before.

Lilos undoing was bringing the zips as mercenaries he thought we’re on his side. The act offended his American gangster peers and the zips were loyal only to money and power. But without the zips tho lilo wouldn’t have been able to have enough firepower to make his famous grab for complete. power.

In hindsight, he probably should’ve been. I wanted to do a mistakes, omissions and (dis)honorable mentions volume where I would explain why I omitted certain people(Kulklinski, Workman ect.), list the mobsters that almost made the list(Macintosh, Carniglia, Capone, Persico, S. Franseze, Gigante) and mobsters that I overlooked that should have defiantly been on it (LaPietra, Accardo, McGurn, Yale, Genovese). I tried to do the best I could. Genovese and Joe Batters were obvious mistakes. I guess at the time I made the list and the outlines, my focus was on making sure the mobsters less well known were represented(Johnny Earle, Skinny Razor, Charlie “Moose” Panerella ect.). If I do get around to this “bonus” volume, Genovese will definitely be included. If I had to do it over again knowing how positively it was received id have done a top 50.

People misunderstand what IQ scores mean. Normal intelligence, comprising 68% of the population, is defined as IQ scores between 90 and 109. Average IQ is 100. Galente may have been on the low end of normal, and below average, but he was still of normal intelligence. Intellectual disability is 69 or less.
