We shouldn’t be sending money and weapons like this for perpetual cold warfare when we have issues at home to address. For one let’s be concerned about placing some of that technology money that is going to weapons of mass destruction over to housing. Imagine what infrastructure changes could be produced with even a quarter of the military budget. No one in America should be homeless with how much we are overspending in Military budgets. Think of how many homes could have been built by simply diverting the cost of one F-35. An F-35 fighter jet costs $177M. We have 630 of them and the military is planning on buying 1,800 more. Cut that out before we turn out like the Soviet Union. The environment and natural disasters are more perilous than any living nation. Cut the military budget to fund better housing, transportation, and green energy options that can sustain a safer future for all Americans. Slay that war machine Bernie; otherwise, we are in trouble as a nation if we keep wasting our tax money this way.

That's right Bernie! I hear very few US politicians - or journalists for that matter - being brave or fair enough to mention the security of Palestinians, as well as the security of Israelis. The words "security" and "Palestinians" just don't seem to go together in most Western media spaces. Also, it seems most politicians seem to think that the security of Israelis means more and more military violence - committing a genocide against Palestinians and bombing their country to rubble, which is the recipe of Prime Minister Netanyahu and his far-right Government. Aside from the fact that, as everyone knows, Netanyahu wants to keep the war / genocide (bombardment and starvation) and the destruction going in Gaza and is trying to expand another war against Hezbollah in order to keep himself in office and quite possibly out of prison for corruption charges - I think his narrative that the continued oslaught in Gaza is keeping Israelis secure and the best way to release all the remaining hostages is obvious, self-serving nonsense. The opposite is the case. The Israeli military's brutality and wholesale destruction in Gaza is inflaming anger against Israel in the neighborhood of Israel and alienating people all around the world. Most people - those capable of empathy - are horrified at the carnage and suffering we have been witnessing for the last eight and a half months on our phones and TV screens. President Biden, now sending even more bombs to this macho Israeli Government to continue their scarched Earth behaviour in Gaza and now aiming to do the same in southern Lebanon, is really reckless, abhorrent, inhumane and counter-productive. For reasons that make no sense, he is blindly following Netanyahu into this hellscape. The current and longtime Israeli leader will do anything but stop the violence and start negotiating with the Palestinians in a civilised manner for a just solution that will bring peace to and security to both Israelis and Palestinians. Off subject. I was born in PR, my cousin is a doctor who went on a mission in 1973, to Cuba, and never left. We have starved the Cuban people for decades.
