I was attempting to do a video about A. Squire affinity strat that I have, that is identical to Jack Pearson's twentieth anniversary squire affinity stratocaster. This guitar I bought for my daughter , it's exactly the same color and everything as Jack Pearson's guitar.

Now,
the sideways situation.
I'm done... I'm just done.
I can't keep trying to play through this old Peavey special 112.
I had one of these amps when I first moved to Nashville in 1995. And I used it the entire time I played with the Don Kelley band, up until one week before johnny Hiland got the gig. Every gig I subbed for Redd Volkaert. I was using this identical style amp. Up until the last week, When Don told me to "go buy a tone" and get a tube amp.
So I traded my amp off for a Peavey classic 50 4-10.
I always wanted another one of these special 112 amps. So twenty-five years later, I found this one, and i've regretted it ever since.
it's officially up for sale. The first $200 cash, in my hand... carries it out of my shop!
I'm done. I can't ship it.
it's too damn heavy.
you gotta come get it.
If you subscribe to my channel, you have seen me kick this amp... At least a hundred times.
I've had customers come to the shop just to see the bastard amp gey kicked.

I actually have that exact guitar. Found it in a pawn shop for $99. Bought it for my daughter but I play it all the time. Great neck

I have a “Lyon by Washburn” guitar, kind of a super strat, got it for $40 at a pawnshop, picked it off a dusty shelf in their warehouse among a hundred other cheap guitars. It plays so damn good it’s not funny. I did replace all the electronics and put hot rails in it, and I clear coated over the masking tape with “$40” that was stuck to it.

Amp Pots and jacks just need some deoxit sprayed into them and the amp will be good as gold. The effects loop jacks are particularly prone to oxidizing and will cause the problems you are having. Spray the heck out of those jacks with deoxit and work a 1/4 inch plug in and out of it and problem solved. I live in Louisville and I would give you $200 for it! But you can fix it easy.

I use DeOxIt on a daily basis. So maybe that's the next video... or maybe you can just get this thing out of my shop. Or maybe, you can come get it, and we will film using DeOxIt to get it going again... I don't know. But I can tell you it's not meant for a dusty shop.

@TwangTown I suggest having it serviced. Then, put it in a snall isolation booth in a corner. Then just run a 1/4 plug like a outlet type. Justin Ostrander does that. That way you keep the amp from the elements. Or take it out back put gas on it and torch it. Might save the speaker first those are pertty good. 👍

What amp/amps do you use when playing live?

My 71 Princeton for small gigs. Or my Little Walter '59 for larger venues, festival gigs. If its a backline supplied situation, I'll ask for an AC-30 and a Peavey classic 50-4/10 or a Super Reverb. Any of them will work. But when I played Summerfest in 2009 in Milwaukee, the AC-30 literally caught fire 🔥 on stage. It was a brand new Chinese made Vox AC-30 CC2. I hit an open G chord at soundcheck and it sounded amazing for about 3 seconds. Then fire was shooting up through the vents.

That old Peavey is a shop amp. If you've watched any of my older videos. Like "Telethon" that song was recorded on a heavily modded 87 Squier Telecaster, my first Tele. The Frankentele. But the older "shop" videos like B bender and a Bigsby, or Bigsby in a Thinline were also Squier Classic Vibe guitars I put benders in, and are plugged straight into my old 1971 Princeton. That sound great. But that amp has been restored and sounds glorious, so I don't want it to get ruined in my shop. Lots of saw dust flying around. Sure I have some $5000 Forrest Custom Guitars builds. But I do a lot of B and G Bender installs in Classic Vibe Squier Telecasters. There's no shame in playing a cheap guitar. And in it's hey day, Peavey were used by EVERYONE. Brent Mason used them, Johnny Hiland... when we all first moved to Nashville, we were all using Peavey amps. And if you watch an videos of Phil Baugh he played a T-60 with an MSA pedal bender system. The Nashville Now show on TNN was all Peavey stuff. Molly Hatchet used Peavey amps and PA. Heck, up until a year ago Steuart Smith used a Peavey Clasdic 50 4/10 with the Eagles, Rodney Crowell etc... has for 30 years. I still use a one once in a while. But I fo have a Little Walter '59 as well.
