@@TwangTown I was reading about a couple of other treatments today: extracorporeal shockwave therapy and, more interesting, percutaneous trigger finger release under ultrasound guidance. The latter is similar to the surgery, only less expensive, much less invasive and much shorter recovery time. Now to find someone around here who can do it.

The first one loosely based on Little Liza Jane. But there are a few more. I don't play any of them exactly correct. It's just a suggestion. Any petroleum products will act as a cutting agent. Never use grease or oil of any kind on a bender saddle. Machinist use cutting oil when machining metal parts. It makes the bit last longer, and the softer metal is easier to cut. Guitar strings are much harder than most saddle materials. This is why a dry lubricant like graphite or Teflon is best.
@Vern859
@Vern859 13 күн бұрын

@Vern859 yep. You can get dry lubricant spray, and powder. I suggest graphite through because it's as close to free as possible, it it works just as good. But Walmart, and any auto parts store carry dry lubricant with Teflon.

Is the throw on that Telecaster as long as Marty Stuart’s Tele?
@TwangTown
@TwangTown 18 күн бұрын
Not that long... Marty's is too long in my opinion. But this one is setup longer than my guitars. Because He wanted it longer. My benders are adjustable BTW. Long or short. And the slotted rear pull arm allows for precise increments until you like it. Marty even shortened Clarence's bender, because it was too long of a throw.

I'll be 61 next month & I've been playing guitar off & on since I was 9. I've been dealing with the exact same trigger finger issue for probably 4 or 5 years, except it's in my left (fingerboard) hand ring finger. It got so bad about 2 years ago, that I completely stopped playing guitar again. I've been thinking about having surgery done, because the 2 chorizone steroid shots that I had only lasted a few months both times. Now, I'm starting to develop trigger finger in my right hand ring finger. Getting old sucks... 😬

Seems like diet might be a big factor. I eat a lot of red meat. Stay away from whiskey... it definitely makes everything worse... my wife will attest to that. But Seriously alcohol definitely doesn't help. Within a few days I'll have the new video up. I'm going to document everything. After I wrap up a few benders this weekend so that doesn't skew the treatment.

Index finger, left hand for me. I’m going to see an orthopedic surgeon week after next. From everything I’ve read, trigger finger is easily corrected with an outpatient surgery. I’m still playing a little guitar but until it’s fixed I’m making lemonade out of this lemon by working on my Dobro playing, just laying that crippled up finger on top of the Stevens bar and letting it rip. Good luck with your remedy-I’m pulling for you and for every picker dealing with this.

There are more I really should add. Shelby Lynn Tough All Over really taught me to listen to every production nuance. Bob Montgomery produced an absolute masterpiece there. Brandy Clark 12 Stories is probably the most sonically perfect record I've ever heard. And my buddy Dave Brainerd produced that one. Besides. Brandy is a fellow Washingtonian. I grew up in WA State. There's something in the water up there... my friend James Otto is from tri cities. And he's a great writer and singer too. He wrote In Color with Jamey Johnson. 12 Stories... man. The writing, the production the playing... it's perfect.

Thanks for these, great picks for sure. Did Vince Gill play any solos on that Emmylou Angel Band album? His solos are almost a bit rare - even on his own records there might only be a couple, but they'd be unreal... Just checked Brent's solo on that Danni Leigh Jukebox tune, that's a ripper for sure. Btw, loved your version of Messin' With the Kid, and that whole CD, and Telethon too, gotta dig those out for another spin!

I think Vince played mandolin on that album. I'll have to dig it back out. All my Emmylou is vinyl. But Vince's early stuff was highly influential. The Way Back Home album... I play the song Let's Do Somethin' almost post every gig. He's playing everything, dobro, mandolin the guitars. It's a killer album. All his early stuff like Oklahoma Borderline, Victim of life's circumstances, Turn Me Loose record... I love Party's early solo stuff too. Busy Bee Cafe, and Matches... that Matches record is crazy good. I could list 100 more.
