This one is another banger this season. First cour just ended and the second cour will start on Jan 6th. FUN FACT: Jinshi was voiced by Takeo Outsuka, the same VA for Aqua Hoshino (Oshi no Ko), while Gyokuyou was voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki, the same VA for Anya (Spy x Family), Frieren (Frieren), and Chise (The Ancient Magus Bride)

I KNEW I HEARD JINSHI'S VOICE SOMEWHERE! OMG I love Jinshi even more, he's so pretty wahhhh! Also omg these VA are doing huge characters omg I love this series even more!

Although obviously the most well known voice actor in this show is still Maomao's voice actor, having voiced a tremendous amount of well known main female characters in the past 2 decades. Madoka from Madoka Magica, Tanya Degrechaff from Tanya the Evil, Kumoko from "I'm a spider, so what?", Diane from Seven deadly sins/nanatsu no taizai, Lucy from Cyberpunk Edgerunners, Victorique from GOSICK, Kino from Kino no Tabi, Kayo from ERASED ; as well as many well loved supporting cast like Nanami Nami from "Kanojo, okarishimasu", Tsuyu from My hero Academia, Tatsumaki from One punch man, Komachi from Oregairu, or Konno Yuuki from SAO. She's been around delivering top quality voice acting, that's for sure.

Maomao is probably the best female character I've seen in a while! I'm soo in love with the chemistry between maomao and jinshi😭 Even though he can pretty annoying sometimes, I can't help but love him. looking forward your reactions!!

I love Maomao so much. I love a lot of characters but Maomao has to be my number one as of now!

It's not 100% clear in the anime, but all of the girls Jinshi called in were roughly the same height and had freckles. That was all he could remember when Maomao walked past him, muttering about finding something to write with.

The animation for this show is absolutely beautiful, and Maomao's such a great character to follow around in it lol! Hope you enjoy this one, it's really difficult to pick a favorite between this & Frieren this passing season.

Apothecary Diaries is my favorite anime this season even though objectively I think Frieren is a better show. I'm just so invested in Maomao and Jinshi's story. Lead poisoning in white powder was actually a pretty common thing back in the day. Women would do things like use heavy metals and even bloodletting to try and have pale skin to "beautify" themselves.

@@EstarReacts A consistent theme running throughout the show is "nothing is quite what it seems", so even if something's "solved" there could be loose ends that might become important later, with new information that could recontextualize stuff.

I'd prepare myself if I were you lol😂 Jinshi's character is VERY controversial. Many LN and manga readers love and hate him, but we'll see if you're still gonna think the same 10 eps later. I hope you do, Jinshi's character along with Maomao creates a very....funny and interesting dinamic LOL

YEAHHHH! the opening there was like one scene, it reminded me of Sailor Moon I swear 😂😂 OMG Herb Power Make Up just sends me 🤣I am so sad about Frieren :( I wanna react to it but Toho is not very friendly when it comes to copyright and I am a bit scared cause "The Apothecary Diaries" is also Toho......

@@EstarReacts Yeah wanted to say the same ... that could be a problem. But mostly it is the audio that is claimed. So you could either remove the audio completly and replace it with royality free music or alter the audio with a filter. That could help.

@@EstarReacts I know a bunch of other reactors had problems with Frieren strikes, but I haven’t seen as many strikes against Apothecary Diaries. I think you muting out some of the audio may be a prudent thing to do anyway, to prevent copyright strikes. ^_^

Yes, that's what I have been doing and it helped for this episode for no copyright claims. So, hopefully it wont be blocked in the near future. For Frieren, even when I uploaded and there were no issues, it would soon be blocked after a few weeks :( Its so frustrating sometimes.
