I honestly enjoy the medium size crowds rather then giant stadium shows. Feels like you, the crowd and the band are connected more.

The Appeal of Going to Concerts: Literally Everything

I’ve still yet to be to my first Metal show, sadly. Been trying to go for years but my schedule never works out. Missed Dokken, Winger, Accept, Priest, and so many others. Hell, I was going to be at a Stryper show in 2 weeks but then I got a job that starts the day after the concert and can’t go. Maybe this fall.

April 19 2022 is a day I'll never forget. The day I lost my moshpit virginity. I had to loose it to the only band that made since for loosing your moshpit v-card. Exodus. They were touring with Death Angel and Testament and they were great, but I didn't get in their pits. But when Exodus shouts "DO THE TOXIC WALTZ!" Boy, you answer that call. When Gary Holt starts that guitar riff it was like a whirlpool opened up 2 feet from me. So at this moment I was ready. I jump in and I start screaming the lyrics along with everyone else. Being on stage with Suicidal Tendencies as an early Christmas present was amazing, but loosing your moshpit v-card to Toxic Waltz by Exodus on par with that moment.

2 weeks ago i traveled all the way from the South Wales Valleys all the way to the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham England to see Ghost. I was beyond excitement because it was a new-ish place for me but that's the beauty of it, I met friends I met through Ghost, popped my hotel cherry (first time I stayed in a hotel), met so many cool people and I was in the front for his Unholiness, Papa Emeritus 4.🤘

I love concerts because I listen to the band more and I can talk it up

Some of the best and nicest people I have ever met was running around to live show's... it's crazy that everyone at metal show is connected without even knowing each other but talk back in forth like you've known them you're whole life...🤘

Sometimes the local openers are my favorites. You've been to a lot of good shows. Keep Grinding On.

This is timely. I just saw Testament, Exodus, DeathAngel last night at the Baltimore Soundstage at a sold out show. HO-LY SHIT. What a great venue for a thrash show. I saw Dillinger Escape Plan there on their farewell tour and had forgotten how much energy that venue contains. Last night was an interaction of the young, old, new, and experienced concert goers. It was an opportunity to get the uncertain to the front, on top of the crowd, and making them feel like they were in a safe space. Next thing I knew, at 45 years old, I felt myself unexpectedly lifted on top of the crowd and then carried to the stage. Instilled with the energy to headbang across the frontand back into the crowd, into the mosh pit for a couple of circles, and back to my spot to the front right. Easily one of the most memorable shows amidst the hundred shows I have experienced. Live metal is alive and well. Take part and participate.

This weekend is stacked for me. Destruction yesterday, Hypocrisy tonight and churchburn tomorrow.

Never been to a concert in my life, but this really makes me want to go.

Got to see SEPULTURA in Los Angles at the Belasco Theater with Art of Shock Sacred Reich and Crowbar and let me say that all of ur tip videos on concert etiquette where all absolutely helpful and made my concert experience the best got to meet some of the members and caught a drumstick during the sacred Reich set and sepulturas set-list and met members of Art of Shock too!!!!!!! Thank you so so much!

I have seen so many bands of different genre's and I've seen Mc Chris,Buckethead,Dope,Sevendust,American head charge,that 1 guy,infected mushroom among many others and always am up in the first row and have gotten many goodies and personal experiences with the bands. I am an artist and always make a personalized shirt and or pants for the show and it definitely helps to he noticed by the musicians. And I love feeling the music in my body and I swear I am constantly moving and it's the best exercise I ever could do. I live the experience.

Finally got to go to my first show in mid April. Was supposed to start going to concerts earlier but covid happened... Great first experience. A few bands from the northern region of my country and one local bands came to play in my favorite venue and it was sick!! Opening band (the local one) sadly wasn't that good, but the rest were all rippers. Some nasty death crust, death thrash, and death grind was played that night, and frankly now it plays on repeat in my room!! Found out about these bands a week before the show and I don't regret going at all. For those interested, the bands were: Death Crusade (death crust), Pandemic Outbreak (death thrash), and Putrid Evil (death grind (kinda)). Won't even name the opening band cuz it ain't really worth it. Great show!!! Can't wait to go to more!!!

a couple of weeks ago i saw primitive man with two smaller englsh bands slabdragger and sea bastard. it was a small venue in bristol and i was easily the youngest person there, all three bands absolutely killed it, slabdraagger actually played a zappa cover. this was my first show and one of the best nights of my life, even if i made the mistake of not wearing ear plugs

I've actually been going to a few shows these past few months I was just getting into metal right before COVID hit sadly haven't managed get to a metal show yet but I saw this Nirvana tribute in Sheffield it was the second time I'd seen them I didn't realize that the venue was standing only till we got there so I ended up being sat at the front in my wheelchair right next to the speakers 😂 surprisingly I didn't lose my hearing and I actually met this pretty cool chick before the set and we've been messaging over the past few weeks ironically just after I watched this I got an ad for anthrax's UK shows in October and they're playing in Leeds my first metal show could potentially be with one of the big 4! 🤘

Saw tool 5 days ago in Sweden. No moshpit but an amazing experience being the first live show in a while.

I was just at a concert in Brooklyn seeing bands like Incantation, Deceased, Massacre, Embalmer etc. there was also Nunslaughter and Malignancy but they had to move venues once they went on and it was 21+ (I’m only 19). I did however have an excellent time and meet most of the bands including Don Crostley from Nunslaughter (who I jammed out to Massacre with) and my second time meeting and seeing Incantation.

Man I miss going to shows, although I just went to 2 to this day, one was a launch of an album cellebration for LocoMotrio (great blues rock) and the other was a videoclip launch/radio program night, Torture Squad and the opening band was called The Monic, I really miss the feeling of being there, the oportunity to talk with some band members is super cool, I got autographs, a setlist, a few pictures, it's like being in another plane of existence in the shows. Now that things are getting back at normal here in Brazil, I plan on going to more shows for sure!

The longest I traveled for a show was the 2018 run of the Slayer Farewell tour near Denver as it was going to stop in Kansas City and I felt it was going to be my last chance to see them. Only for them come through KC the following year, but couldn't go to that date regardless.

What a time for this to be uploaded. A few days ago I went to a show with Tallah, Varials, Miss May I, and All That Remains. What an amazing show and watching this video reminded me of how awesome the experience was cuz this was exactly how it went😊

Just went to my first show since 2019 last month and man you sum up the experience way too well. Was my first time seeing Ministry (and the rest of the bands on their bill, really) and I even got to take a friend of mine who hadn't been to a big concert or a metal show before. They weren't familiar with any of the bands too much, but they had an awesome time and I'd later that week get a message on how they are digging Ministry! I just had a great time showing someone the ropes of a metal show and being back on the concert scene finally. Here's to countless more awesome shows in the future!

one week ago, on April 22nd 2022, I traveled about 4 hours by train to Frankfurt to see Ghost. It was my first ever concert and I had an absolutely amazing time :) in my town, there's pretty much nothing going on in terms of subculture, and it's changing right now, and there'll be an actual death metal show in a few weeks, I'm hyped up as fuck!

Do be afraid of talking to someone most people at a metal concert can be very friendly because we all love the same style of music. Ask who you came to see, is this your first time at a concert or is this your first time seeing said band, reminiscent all the past show you went to or tell them when was the last time you saw said band.

I’ve only started going to shows recently. My first was Megadeth, Lamb of God, Trivium, and Hatebreed. It was amazing, and little did I know it was also probably the only stadium show I’ll ever go to. Most metal bands play at this Dive Bar/Concert Venue in my city, and since Megadeth I’ve been seeing bands there. Personally I really miss that stadium experience, and these smaller shows aren’t doing it for me sonically. Maybe it’s the venue, maybe it’s my hearing. It’s not really loud enough you know? I don’t really come to a show to socialize at all, in fact I’d like to avoid that. I’m going to Dying Fetus later this month, I really want to mosh but idk if I’m gonna be able to handle it lmao

I just saw Teddy Swims last weekend in Toronto! Good show, though not my style of music AT ALL. I have had a lot of memories of going to concerts and festivals over the years, two of the coolest being: meeting (and later becoming good friends with) James LaBrie's son at an Asking Alexandria show in 2013 and going up on stage with the metalcore-via-R&B band Issues at Warped Tour 2014 in Toronto! Also, being carried up in my wheelchair at the edge of a Slayer pit at Heavy T.O. 2011! Speaking of Issues, I once flew to Vegas w/ my dad to see them in 2017. It was a good show! Shame the band is inactive nowadays due to allegations about their lead singer... 😑

Going to see Lamb of God and Kreator this December!! I'll be 16 by then, and it'd be my first ever show. Lamb of god are my all time fav. Cant wait. \m/ (Lol but I'm contemplating if I should see Sepultura with Sacred Reich and Crowbar before them though. hmm idk!)
