Thank you for your corrections. Watching this as a westerner I could tell he used predominantly western sources and I wish he would have used more middle eastern and Muslim sources. Having read the Quran but by no means an expert I caught many of these differences as well. Perhaps he was only using non-religious sources? I think the 'last prophet' jab has come from many modern cults with leaders who claim to be the last prophet. Like Moon in Korea claims Jesus got it wrong and he was sent to fix that mistake of love and marriage. Joseph Smith from US Mormonism claimed to be the final prophet because God sent him to correct the mistake in belief that middle America was the real garden of eden. Or John the Baptist from South America who was the last prophet and got acclaim even from people like Oprah and other famous people, he used his fame and control over the cult to sexually assault countless women. It was a completely novel idea in his time. The idea of revelation coming to a halt for all eternity. Other people saw how popular it was in Islam, and tried using it. All of it can be traced back to Prophet Muhammad. Before him, no recorded man in history had even claimed to be a final messenger. No one of any note anyway.

Also two more things: Tribal structure existed but not monarchy in Arab culture. Islam established meritocracy something which was not well understood by former Sasanid portion of the empire. As we have seen many times in history with many religions that as it travels to different parts of the world it mixes local culture with religious beliefs. That is why most of Ali’s supporters came from the eastern part of the empire and also later those eastern parts became Shia while most of the Arabian peninsula remained Sunni. There are many accounts where Ali didn’t want to be in position of leadership and as mentioned he was young and knew his time would come and as per Arabian culture respected the elders. Many of Ali’s story were later fabricated by Shia to make their believers get pissed at Sunnis and many stories were made up by Sunni sultans and historians to cite reasoning behind why battle with Ali was inevitable. Again reading multiple source would have given you a clearer picture and if you don’t buy either side then you could have cited both saying this is what each side claims which is something many other KZfaqrs do.

Secondly, Prophet didn’t give the key of Kaba to his tribe for any monarchical structure but rather because of tradition. Also he didn’t give it to his tribe. He gave it to a specific family again because of tradition. Not even Shia scholars dispute that so I don’t know where that claim came from. On the conquest of Makkah, the Prophet was given the keys to the Kaaba and instead of keeping it in his own possession; he returned them back to the Osman ibn Talha of the Bani Shaiba family. They had been the traditional key keepers of the Kaaba for centuries; and the Prophet confirmed them in that role till the end of time by these words “Take it, O Bani Talha, eternally up to the Day of Resurrection, and it will not be taken from you unless by an unjust, oppressive tyrant.”

Also for all the criticism I have made I have to thank you for pointing out the hypocrisy of many later Islamic rulers. Forceful conversation certainly happened in places because some religious people go nutts even though forced conversation is strictly prohibited in Islam but majority times Islamic kingdoms didn’t want people to convert to Islam because they couldn’t collect lucrative Jijya tax from non Muslims. There are even cases where Arab Islamic kingdoms told non Arab Muslims that they were not true Muslims since they aren’t Arab therefore Jijya tax was valid upon them. I think some Ottoman Sultans also created laws where your father or grandfather had to be Muslim for you not to pay Jijya tax. It’s ridiculous but hey end of the day money talks for them religion was simply a political tool.

Also funny you mentioned Uthman’s castle as he was filthy rich but lived in a mud hut and had no bodyguards or anyone defending him. He was a great merchant and economic reformer but a terrible ruler. He deserves a lot of criticism but I can clearly see you only read Shia source.

No other figure in history has been as successful with their message being as widespread as Muhammad. Fear of a person doesn't last beyond that person's lifetime, the same way love of that person does.
