Fun fact: dots on letters didn't exist previously and many letters looked identical; you were supposed to know the sound they make using context... dots were added just to accommodate learning Arabic for foreigners after the spread of Islam. Same story with the diacritics. That aside... I appreciate that you're trying to learn Arabic, and I assure you that you will get many natives surprised (perhaps making backflips of joy)

The jeem letter is pronounced G in most of Egypt (not even all of Egypt) but who are we to say what's correct? Even classical Arabic had dialects that used to pronounce letters differently and modern Arabic dialects evolved from some of them and kept some of their traits... Now if you really wanna go back like waaaay back the original Alfro-Asiatic (and proto-Semitic of course) sound for this letter was in fact G as it is in Babylonian, Phoenitian, Old Egyptian, Amharic etc. so...... Who's right, the Egyptians who stuck to the more archaic variant, the collonized countries that pronounce it like the French "j", the Khalijis, Iraqis, Kuwaitis and others who pronounce it closest to Qur'anic tajweed pronunciation or or or... The "standardized" jeem is a thing just because most of the Qur'an was revealed in the dialect of the Quraysh who pronounced it like that and they were just one tribe out od hundreds? Yeah........ Let the guy pronounce it as he wants, Arabs also do 🤷🏻‍♂️

In fact, the most complex languages in terms of tenses, verbs, and other grammar rules are the Germanic languages, and the most complex of these is the English language. This is because English is a mixture of languages, making it very difficult to subject it to any one grammatical rule. As a result, there are always exceptions and irregularities. Because English speakers are accustomed to this complexity and irregularity, they find all regular and simple languages difficult to learn.
@Travisthehungarian
@Travisthehungarian 9 күн бұрын
So you are saying that English has more tenses, moods and aspects than Spanish, for example? Or a complex syntax governed by the use of cases like Polish instead of an immovible word order. I don't think so. The biggest difficulty in English lies in its phonology, not grammar nor syntax. Words like "tests", "twelfths" and "fifths" sound as if they were uttered by a snakelike alien species from the Andromeda galaxy. Even better is that the orthography is a complete mess obsolete since the XV century. The only language with weirder phonotactics being Georgian (Kartvelian languages).
