I'm half Russian, half art school drop out. If I hadn't grown up with Russian, never in my entire life would I have been able to speak it. For some reason I can't learns cases and genders and this shit, trying to learn Latin was a catastrophe. But since I was raised with both Russian and German, cases always felt like second nature to me... Okay maybe third nature, but this was a giant headstart. And I'm still struggling. Mad respects to anyone who pulls through and learns either language from the ground up

Native speakers don't get cases wrong. It comes natural to us. We concord the words with cases to some inner euphony. There are some numerals you struggle to declinate correctly in writing but they are few.

As a native Russian speaker who's been practicing English on a daily basis and trying to wrap my head around all it's quarks and features the only question I have. Why? God damn why? You already speak freaking English 😂😂😂

As a person whose first language is Arabic, I find English very easy to learn. I do not face any problems with pronunciation, as the Arabic language is rich in sounds.

7:10 those are 5 different words (ok, actually four): читать = to read A something (remember, we do not have a/the, so we use different forms of words, if we care), прочесть = to read THE something, прочитать - the same "to read THE something", but also "spend time reading" (прочитать весь день = spend whole day reading) Гласить - to be read (in passive), like "this sign reads as...." считывать - is more like "to scan" than "to read": like "to read the body language"

We know. Example from video that word order is not important in russian language is not entirely accurate. In russian translation Yoda’s word order is also changed and his speech sounds strange because of this

I don't want to make it difficult for you, but you must know that the grammar and words that you will learn academically are completely different from the language we speak in the streets. I don't know how to explain it to you, but we have two languages The language we read and learn in is classical Arabic, and the language we speak in is colloquial In addition, dialects in the street are completely different from those in school. Such as the Egyptian, Saudi, Jordanian, Moroccan, etc. dialect Good luck😊

Hear me out. I personally clicked this vid cause i was interested in some english speakin people see our language being difficult to learn. I was born and live in russia already for 22 years and i always wanted to learn english cause its really worldwide. Most of our planet speaks english and i just didnt wanna lose that opportunity to discuss some stuff and find some people i can play with, spend some time and etc. Now i can tell that i still struggle a bit cause my knowledge and dictionary still has its room for improvment. If its not of a big deal - lemme know if i made a couple of mistakes here and there cause its always funnier and easier to learn while u speak or chat with someone who live their entire life speakin language u want to understand more clearly and straight.

Okay, I have to clear a misconception about the "difficulty" of the verb aspects in Russian. You have to learn these aspects in Russian because they have at least some morphological rules. Surprise, surprise, English also has verbs with different aspects, but they are entirely different words, in contrast to Russian. Consider: hear/listen, find/search, see/look. So, in English, you have to memorize words for various aspects that do not even remotely resemble each other. Be grateful that it is actually more straightforward in the Russian language than in English.

As a Russian speaker, your description of "Saudade" in first tier matches very well with "Toska". I think "Toska" has a lot more meanings, that even a lot of russians aren't able to describe (including me, i don't even know how to tell about it, you just has to feel it)

As for me Russian language has many advantages 1. They have two separate words for "marry" and it depends on gender → Замуж - a woman marry a man Жениться - a man to marry a woman Therefore, it would be a huge mistake to say "Я выхожу ЗАМУЖ" as a guy (if you are not in a country where this is supported) 2. You can determine a person’s gender using a regular verb, without any pronouns! Сказала (said) = girl Сказал (said) = guy Ответил (answered) = guy Ответила (answered) = girl or more: Предупредили = they 3) There are no useless "the", "a", "an", "of”" in this language! 4) The arrangement of words does not matter. In English there is "I love you" but you won’t say "I you love", no in Russian: I= Я love = люблю you = тебя if translated as in English, it will be "я люблю тебя" but you can also say "я тебя люблю", "люблю я тебя" the meaning doesn’t change 5) In Russian there is a pronoun "вы" which, unfortunately, is not exactly translated into English, you can only get around to the word "you" What is special about this pronoun? It is a sign of respect and is used towards strangers or adults (teachers, professors) that is, in Russia it is not customary to say "ты" on the street "Ты можешь подсказать мне дорогу?" ("can you tell me the way?") no you can’t do that, you need "ВЫ можете подсказать мне дорогу?" 6) In Russian language all objects have a gender, even unsatisfactory objects: school = she watches = they house = he therefore they can use "he", "she", "they", "it" in relation to objects "Вот ОНА, моя старая школа" literally "here she, my old school" ("here it is, my old school") I think this is all useful

I’m Ukrainian so i know Russian and Ukrainian as native languages. It’s funny how English is so easy that I can chat with guys easily and they won’t even have any suspicions that I’m not native eng even if I do some grammar mistakes time to time as most of Eng guys just don’t care about their own language rules. But in Russian.. oh gosh. Just one misspelled letter will reveal that u are foreigner. So don’t even try to hide this fact, *we know*

in the first part of the video i thought that all that stuff is hella easy, then i remembered that russian is my native language. in the second half of the video I was amazed at how overcomplicated the explanations are. it sounded confusing even to me, because of roundabout way of explanation. russian is really easy, because it's logical. Just try not to overthink, and youll be golden.
