The fact they got bilge pumps running and onboard engine kinda kills it. A square rigged gallon can be steered by sails alone, don't even need the rudder.

Agreed, but I think it's more a safety measure than just comfort. It's too unique to rely on wind and sails.

the engine is mandatory by law so it has it. They only use it to enter the ports and sometimes in the sea

So im assuming theres an engine moving it since the sails are up? Does it ever sail anymore?

It does sail, the engine is a backup to the sails. They generally use it to get out of ports and maneuver in storms. According to the website, they try to provide the real thing sailing with sails, so the engine is rarely used.

Me parece que debe ser la réplica del galeón Andalucía que he visto en algún otro vídeo. Estos galeones cruzaron el Pacífico desde Acapulco a Manila. La bandera debiera ser el Aspa de Borgoña.

Approach to port and docking is much safer, faster and more comfortable. It is a small auxiliary motor.

The engine is a backup to the sails for entering and getting out of ports, also used in heavy storms. They sail under sail for as long as they can, though.
