This is a look behind the curtain at some of the hidden processes and behind-the-scenes magic that make concerts come to life. The moving parts that go into a blend of lights, sound, and visuals that give concert-goers the live concert experience. Set up, soundcheck, load out. Interfacing provided equipment with tour equipment equipment. "How to" information and tips provided along the way.
Whether you're an aspiring musician, an audiovisual enthusiast, or simply curious about the grand spectacle of live concerts, this video offers a unique educational opportunity and perspective. Gain insights into the careful planning, coordination, and artistic choices that transform an empty space into a full blown live show. And techniques that can be used not just on large shows, but even small shows. Small shows can benefit from deploying many of these same tips and suggestions that are used on larger shows.
From the work of the local crew to the touring crew, venue staff, to the talent themselves, a show day is much more than the couple of hours the artist is on stage.
Many tours are a mix of touring production and local production, as the one shown here. And everything has to work in the end to give the crowd an exciting and entertaining audio mix and concert experience.

This video is from a show a few weeks ago. It's another concert production... behind the scenes video that I get comments to upload more of. I tried to make this a little more educational than previous ones with the direction of the narration and pop-up text adding background. I'm in the middle or fair and festival season, so it's hard to get everything pieced together and edited because there's just so little time right now until things slow a bit. It's not 2020 any longer! Hopefully, it won't be as long between uploads for the next one. If anyone has any questions or comments, drop them here. Likes and subscribes always appreciated and feel free to share the video link.

Thanks! I have some more footage from other events that haven't made it to video... I need some time to go thru the footage and see what might make for a cohesive look at things without being too redundant. Been really busy with the holiday shows and everything popping up related to that. Good for shooting footage... bad for leaving time to review and edit footage... .

My dad has his own staging and lighting as well as audio company, going by Majik Sound Productions, he wants me to become a video tech since most of his crew including himself does not really know too well, this really gets me started to understand what goes where and what is what, thanks for making a simple yet detailed video about this sort of stuff :D

No problem. Good luck with the video side of things. It really helps to have a working knowledge of all the depts so that you can better understand the challenges or things that needs to happen to interface with your own department. You don't want to be the guy coming up to the audio guy, 10 mins before the show starts, and asking for an audio feed to your video... and then wonder why he's grumbling.

kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fL1mlpeDtLfGfJc.html Breakouts/Break-ins... Analog dongles that let you use Ethernet cable (and in this case Tourgrade/Tactical/Supercat Cat5e STP with Ethercons) for 4 channels of analog audio over the cable. There's nothing 'digital' about the process. No electronics involved. If you have an inventory of tourgrade Ethernet with Ethercons, then having adapters like these (or other brands) is very handy. The can replace a 4 channel audio snake, like where I'm using it for drivelines here. You can use the dongles in any configuration so you can create a M to M or F to F snake of any practical length. Since Ethernet cable is designed for digital it can also be used for DMX applications. Since I typically use Artnet, I'm already using the same cables for that connection... But if a guest LD needs regular ol' DMX to stage from their own lighting console, I can put the DMX versions of the dongles on the cable and instantly change things to a 4 channel DMX snake. I showed the dongles that are connector to fan, but they also make 4 XLR connectors in a box (like a standard audio snake) that you can connect to Ethernet cables too. Or box to fan, etc... Caveats: You don't have to use shielded cable BUT to pass phantom power it HAS to be shielded. LyxPro changed their design. Older versions had fatter wires/jackets and used a different wiring/color scheme than their newer ones. Not really a problem per se, you just have to know which ones you have and use the matching ones. And of course if you don't have the older ones, then you'd never run into that issue anyway.

@@AlanHamiltonAudio Thank you very much. Is it usual cable or dongle has some chip and I can't make them myself? What are the names of these dongles?
@AlanHamiltonAudio
@AlanHamiltonAudio Жыл бұрын
You can make them yourself, but you can find them on Amazon (check the video description for links) and they aren't all that expensive. There is no chip in them. Just point to point wiring that follows the needed pattern. Here is a website that shows how they are wired and has more info. Plus the info you need to make some yourself. randomcontributions.blogspot.com/2018/02/using-ethernet-cat5e-cat6-wire-for-xlr.html
