Since on the screen it says: "10 years of smoking", I assume it's a stress test (just like dropping it or cooling it down from room temperature to extreme temperatures in a short amount of time) that serves to simulate another type of environment the speaker could end up in.

I think you need to brush up on your vocabulary. Craftsmanship is the art of hand-making products. "Fine craftsmanship" implies the use of quality raw materials and a long time spent perfecting both design and final product.
