BRITISH PATHÉ'S STORY
Before television, people came to movie theatres to watch the news. British Pathé was at the forefront of cinematic journalism, blending information with entertainment to popular effect. Over the course of a century, it documented everything from major armed conflicts and seismic political crises to the curious hobbies and eccentric lives of ordinary people. If it happened, British Pathé filmed it.
Now considered to be the finest newsreel archive in the world, British Pathé is a treasure trove of 85,000 films unrivalled in their historical and cultural significance.

This only proof that even then, fashion victims did existed. Sure the lady who wore the bamboo ones were bullied ever after. But now seriously I loooooove... cat eyes glasses so much that I get fascinated by theese videos. And I am very lucky to to have two beautiful pair of then, one of then in pink. I am totally in love with then.

I dunno, those studded canvas ones were way worse than the Flintstones bamboo ones. This video has made my day - the narrator, the music, the beautiful ladies and the bitchy looks.... 10 out of 10 would watch again.

This is the way women SHOULD look (and that includes men who wish to look like women). Elegant, sexy, gorgeous, and the spectacles are SUPERB. Wish we could still buy them.

I wonder what the prices were? and were the frames for perscriptions? Glass lenses + big bulky frames....I remember in the early 80s they were heavy.

i LOVE this! u just dont find this kind of coordination in dressing and accessorizing anymore theres no more opticians that can style a frame to match YOU...smh thats a shame :(

Not true! Gerry Visco knows how to wear those lovely outfits, accessories, and makeup and I know lots of others who do, too! Agreed that not as many as in the past but someday they will return to glamor.

Now I understand why people used to say "guys don't make passes at girls who wear glasses". All those ostentatious designs detract from the face, they're awful.
