The book "when heaven invades earth" is not scripture do not be followers of men. Read, study, memorize, and meditate on the word of God. If you will do you will be able to discern the spirit of error and separate the doctrines of men and devils from the true doctring of Christ.

The fruits of the Spirit Galatians 4, come through godly living, peace, joy, love etc. Something like the lights on the dashboard of your car, if a light comes on it's a warning maybe oops, not enough oil in the engine. Similarly, if we get say unreasonably angry and we loose our peace then it's likely that we're doing one of the works of the flesh just mentioned in the previous verse (not an exhaustive list although it says they're obvious) and we should repent to return to godly living. What struck me about the parable of the talents is not that the master was unduly harsh with the servant that did nothing but how he had missed the true nature of the master, that of over spilling blessing and increase and that the servant could have been truly blessed. When my kids were small and I went out, they always wanted to come with me because they knew they'd get a icecream or sweets. Our Father is like this, it's His nature. But just a little farther down in Gal 4 it says let's keep in step with the Spirit, the earthly presence of God after Pentecost and I'll add so that we too can have blessings spilling out onto others around. And the increase of His Kingdom shall know no end.

His Kingdom originates in heaven but will eventually fill the whole earth. God is seeking a people to usher in His Kingdom on earth. It's not a political Kingdom ruled with an iron rod but a Kingdom of righteousness (right doing), and of peace. Remember the statue in the book of Daniel? The stone rolled in, broke the statue (which represents earthly kingdoms and empires) then grew to fill the whole earth. The stone represents the Kingdom of God For my part, I want in.

There will be an end both for us as indivuals but also there'll be a new earth. Until we die, we usher in His Kingdom, after we die yes as you say, we go to a place prepared for us. In this life, we have a purpose both individually and as his people the universal church.

So yes, these are just a few, there are certainly many others as well. One could write many books on it all, but I’m sure others have, however there are a few little notations that I have not heard anyone notice yet, but still, there’s plenty without my additions. It’s all twisted until it’s unrecognizable to the original Gospel.

People can't make the final determination where someone is after they die, but you can be sure that they can make an assumption of where they went based on fruit. The thief on the cross is rare case. How many times do you see people repent on their death bed. No much, at least from my perspective. I've watched my Grandfather reject Christ in his last days on earth and I never saw any repentance in his heart up until the point of his death. He is in Hell I believe. And if someone doesn't "know" the Lord, then why would we assume they would be in any other place other than hell? Just food for thought my friend.

David Crane, Jayson is correct----the preacher did say that Saul wanted to kill David, not that David wanted to kill Saul. Don't beat yourself up for a genuine misunderstanding or for getting it backwards. We are all flawed in that way, both when we listen, and when we read.

The beauty of The Word is its simplicity. This is evident in the common analogies using farming and such so that the common man could easily understand. Never complicated.

Bill Johnson is not calling Saul a prophet, but is merely making reference to the story where he DID prophesy. 1 Samuel 19:18-24. Clearly, Mr. Johnson is not telling the story to show what an amazing guy Saul was, but to exemplify the effect an atmosphere dedicated to God can have on a person; even a hateful person. I don’t know if I agree that it was the environment of the prophets that caused Saul to prophesy, but I do know, at least, it wasn’t the “evil spirit from God” of chapter 18; which it seems is what you’re implying. Verse 23 makes it clear it was the “Spirit of God” that came upon Saul. Are we to contextualize this with Saul’s previous experience to say that the Spirit of God here means evil spirit? If so, what about the men Saul sent before coming himself? We have no reason to suggest that these men were previously demonized, and so it makes the most sense to take “Spirit of God” at face value. Plus, I think Samuel would’ve known enough not to allow someone to prophesy before the Lord, if the prophecies we’re coming from demons. Though I’m not entirely convinced by his exegesis, there’s enough to commend his conclusions to make me consider them reasonably. I mean, if God was just trying to protect David, why didn’t he employ this tactic in the middle of the wilderness? There’s obviously something about the situation with the school of the prophets that lended itself to this encounter. And I think Scripture has a lot to say about the power of environment, and there’s something intuitive about it as well. There’s enough here, at least, to refute any idea that Bill Johnson is a false teacher because of his interpretation of this verse.

David Crane Right. 1 Sam 19:9 refers to an evil spirit from the Lord. You'll notice, however, that I was referring to 1 Samuel 19:18-24.
