The difference between a good amplifier and a great amplifier resides in the details, and in the passion of the designer. One of the reasons for superiority of VAC equipment is that VAC uses vacuum tube technology almost exclusively. After almost 100 years since it invention, the triode vacuum tube remains the most linear (accurate) amplifying element known producing superior sonic performance. A tube amplifier, properly designed, preserves far more of the vitality of the original performance. Tubes simply bring the music back alive. This is why the world’s foremost guitarists use tube amplifiers, and why vacuum tube microphones and processors are highly prized by the world’s best recording studios. Tubes do have a sound that is different from solid state amplifiers, and one that happens to make amplified music sound better to the human ears and brain.
Another reason: The potential benefit of hand wiring is that the designer gains infinitely more freedom in “voicing” through the ability to select the brand, conductor material(s), insulation, size, and geometry of wires used to build the amplifier. This has been exploited in many previous VAC designs.
A third reason: Relentless search for musical accuracy. Once the basic electrical design is completed, countless hours are spent in the process we call “voicing.” During this time, small changes in the physical arrangement of the parts are tested, different types of capacitors and wires are auditioned, and even various chassis materials tried. The differences often elude the linear test bench instrumentation but are plainly audible to the human ear. The human ear and brain do not work in the manner of our test instruments, and the ear values different aspects of performance than can be measured readily. The passion for this work and attention to detail is required to bring a design to its peak of performance. Great care is evident in every note sounded by a VAC. I attended this show with my son. It was our first audio show. We listened to this system, they played the first track as they did in this video and wow. I’m telling you this system will take your breath away. It’s simply stunning. I compare it to sex. No it’s not as good as sex but if someone said you couldn’t have sex but to listen to this system instead I swear you wouldn’t be upset! I immediately ran over to Liaf (guy in black suit explaining the speakers) and I asked the question... How much? He replied, for what? I said the system. Everything connected in this demo. He looked around scratched his head and began verbally tallying the system. His final number was just over 1 Million Dollars! 🤬

They can just about get this type of sound with any of their speakers for any room. We have the E-5 speakers at home with very inexpensive electronics but yet I still feel like I'm at the concert. I don't know how he does it, but music has never been the same for me.

Pretty much everything Peter says about these is true. I had the pleasure of hearing them at THE Show in LA a few years ago, and despite their huge size, the completely (acoustically) disappear in the room. They played a Mobile Fidelity recording of The Rite of Spring I brought in, and the image and soundstage of the orchestra was substantially wider than the outer edge of the speakers, and the depth stretched back behind the speakers the correct depth for a concert hall. Then they switched to a singer/songwriter recording, and the speakers reproduced the correct scale of that. The singer was located between the speakers about 10 feet back. When I looked at a photo on the back of the recording, that is exactly the position of the singer in the photo. People like to trash talk audiophiles, but I don't they've ever heard a system like this, or care as much about music as we do.

Amazing sound. Listening through my headphones I can hear immersive imaging like no other, the resolution was not overboard so is close to reality like jonasz was actually in that room together with his band members. Instruments are just flawless and bass is weighty and low, I mean wow! Best sound this year for sure. Tks Peter for this wonderful video.

AMAZING, AMAZING super top to super bottom waterfall like sound spectrum. Best version I heard of Michel Jonasz, Le temps passé :) In all honesty you guys better have......like serous carts.... just to take the cables away, when you re load. These suckers are more expensive and complicated, that the ones power nuclear reactors. This gear combo has SO MANY layers and details. Enjoyed it much on my own hand made panels and "cables/foils), and Tang Band subs on each side.

Really a great presentation. This truly is the ultimate in audio. I would love to hear this system in person. There is no way a KZfaq playback can capture the scale dynamics and image of this one. But it sure did give us an idea.

The main point if room listening spoilage is poor 400hz sn ratio. The real one. And these have true shine. Tho a room compensation is always a deal.
