The church bells across the street
from my house, recorded on an iPhone.
They once rang like clockwork every Sunday. Now, in lockdown, they are gone.
The hiss from a much loved vinyl record.
The static on our television sets; radiation left over from the Big Bang.
What are these sounds that haunt our lives..
floating in the static and the noise all around us, just beyond our grasp?
Are they radio waves, hallucinations? Voices from the past?
Beginning with the physical, we become the ephemeral. We are changed.
Emeshed in the universal fabric, we are reflecting light.

What a strike in the popular music today! I did not expect such 2 great song from Tha Avalanches, like this and the one with Jamie XX. Yes, they did the superb "since I left you" but their latest efforts could not prepare for such grandeur. Really, two of the best songs of the last times so far!

@@RayasNegroOvejas he had nine top 20 singles in the UK, and the two singles from his 2nd album were great but for some reason the record company didnt seem to promote that album or singles at all, probably because it wasnt the album they wanted him to make. A similar case to his fourth album which was a fantastic album, but again it wasnt promoted well at all. I think the record company basically wanted him to continually release similar albums to his first one which he refused to do.

Holy cow, this one gets better every time i play it. Those subtle samples add so much depth and color... and those VOCALS! I wish this would inspire some similar sounding micro-genre of neo soul or something. I can't find anything else like it!
