Half Life 2, Bully and Oblivion came out in '06. Even if we limit it to just the PS2, there were still Black, Kingdom Hearts 2 and FFXII. That's what Bervely Hills Cop competed against in store shelves. And no price difference would have done anything to help it.

Fun fact: Blast Entetainment (the responsible of this sh*tty game) was seen as a racist video game company or being a Eddie Murphy hater by what you're seeing in the Beverly Hills Cop game, and the cover of Dr. Dolittle game for PS2, his face is covered. Yep, Blast was lucky to be defunct years before modern days

And not only did they cover Dr. Dolittle's face on the cover; which they likely did because it undoubtedly isn't Eddie Murphy in that photo, and likely isn't even someone of African descent; but they also replaced him with a white man in that game too. A white man who barely even looks human, and isn't even wearing a single thing anyone would even remotely associate with healthcare or veterinary work. Now, we can give them the benefit of the doubt by assuming they were intending on him to be inspired by the Rex Harrison version depicted in 1967. But that little benefit goes straight out the window given they use the font, clothing, and poster styling of the Eddie Murphy version of Dr. Dolittle for the cover. So at BEST, they are openly/actively dishonest and immoral with their marketing; and at worst, there is credence to those allegations. Either way, not a great outlook for a gaming company.

Oh wow. Seeing you play this game made me remember a lesser known and underrated KZfaq reviewer Tennings, who played this game as one of his earlier videos. He posts once every 12 years though, an inside joke of his channel. In his playthrough, Tennings isn't even able to even finish the game, reaching the final level and encountering an unavoidable losing scenario due to the game being so buggy. But damn, to see you guys FINISHING IT was cathartic 😂 This was a pain to see you play this mess, but it was satisfying just doing 'stealth' - and by 'stealth', I mean you just going up behind a guard shoot them in the head point-blank.

The reason why the character looks nothing like Axel F. Is because the game company got a license to the character, but not the actor's likeness - which, being Eddie Murphy, has a very high value. Something similar happened to the Jurassic Park merch licensing, so the company that produced the action figures got a license to Jeff Goldblum's character, but not the actor's likeness, so his character's action figure looks nothing like him. A high quality game company most likely would not commit to an adaptation without the central actor's likeness properly licensed.

I think this company "Stealth system" isn't real (as they got other few broken games with "stealth levels") I think it goes by you have go certain path trigger path and not to be caught. It's not a real stealth system like Metal Gear Solid or even Metal Gear on the NES.

Not that the games I'm about to mention were anywhere this bad- but this reminds me of what was probably my favorite era of gaming, which was in the early 2000s ps2. Im talking Prince of Persia, Kingdom Hearts, True Crimes Streets of LA, Def Jam, the fight for NY. Great little gems.
