They don't just need different artists, they also need different graphic designers. Graphic design is how someone designs an image or any visual to be affective but also good looking. They are the ones who do most of the design for T-shirts. Good ones are also very knowledgeable with fonts.

If they commisioned artists for their merch, I'd be 3 times more likely to buy from their shop. I I think the mini designs are ok for little figures, but for tee shirts I want something more.

Little mention: in Poland when they translate and publish Warriors they also hire a professional artist(s) who make awesome covers for the books, and it's not that much of a problem for the publisher since fans usually adore the cover designs (maybe some criticise some parts they don't like) and I think once when fans didn't like the cover they made a completely new one (not sure about that one) Like, come on, I'm pretty sure many of people out there (even those who don't consider themselves creative) could do better designs than Warriors official merch! Like, for the Tigerclaw quote, his shining dangerous eyes above the quote on a black shirt would do good (at least I think so)

I personally think it would be really cool if l could buy a bigger version of the maps, and hang them up on my wall. I love drawing fantasy maps and I really think that the art style for the warriors maps look beautiful

and the thing is, they KNOW they have an overwhelming amount of highly talented people in their fanbase that would be more than happy to do some freelance work for them. but nope :')

The fact is they literally could've just put their Warriors logo on it with a really awesome picture of one of the characters below it and it would've been fine.

I think the name shirts would be absolutely be AWESOME if they A: Did a slightly more fun font and B: added the cats face. The 4 cat shirts could have been really really good if they grouped them better. So making it only 2 cats and grouping them better. E.G Greystripe and Firestar, Leafstar and Billystorm or even Hawkwing, Hollyleaf with Jayfeather and Lionblaze (I know its 3 but cmon its the iconic 3!), Ivypool and Dovewing HECK THERE ARE SO MANY OPTIONS! What's so frustrating is Warrior Cats merchandise could sell really, really well if only they had a good product team. The fandom is willing, and even requests, to buy merchandise. They have a huge amount of buyers wanting to spend money, but the Coolabi company only does the bare minimum. That's just sad when this fandom deserves so much better.

They're getting lazier and lazier... It's sad to see the erins getting more and more lazy with their marketing Warrior cats just sometimes doesn't feel like warrior cats anymore. The new mainseries books are great but look at lots of what we got recently. Look at the character arcs and the horrible portrayal of cats like squirrelflight or breezepelt. It almost feels like using cats like tigerstar, graystripe, and firestar for merch is just nostalgia baiting.

Literally how hard could it have been for them to commission one of the PLETHORA of amazing artists in the community? I dont know, Finchwing, Tennelle, Moonkitti, Akira, Sagutoyas, and that's only a few that come to mind right now. There are so many talented people in the fandom that i bet would LOVE to have their art portrayed in official merch. I really doubt the franchise is lacking 20 bucks to buy a few commissions.

These designs are all PAINFUL to look at. I do graphic design for a living and I'm cringing so hard. The Warriors fandom has SO MANY creative and talented people in it, it's a real shame they didn't utilize the community more. This merch looks like they had someone with no design experience just throw a bunch of existing assets together and called it a merch design. :/ Super disappointing. Even as an adult, I'd love to see some actually cool or well-designed merch! I can't even picture kids/young fans repping the stuff they have up now.

So wild how they put such little effort into these things when the fandom has a non-insignificant amount of teen and adult fans. WE are the ones that are going to be buy this merch. I'm not going to waste over 30$ on some shitty "Firestar" shirt that a 12 year old could recreated in photoshop in 5 minutes, or a cringy "I'll always be your friend!" shirt with character icon generator art... But I WOULD drop money on merch that's actually creative and looks nice! Like imagine tote bags, mugs, notebooks, or even t-shirts of scenes from the books in the same style as the original covers. Or just well-done, official designs of some of the fan favorites (the Three, the more well-known clan leaders, some of the big villains, etc). Stickers! Iron-on patches! Not only will adult fans be more likely to buy it, but parents will probably be more willing to buy their kids merch if it looks like a quality product.

Solution to bad warrior cats merch : Support warrior cats fan artists instead !! Pretty sure you can find some pretty cool and stylish tee shirts on redbubble or etsy, that sure might cost maybe a bit more but it'll look both unique and way more interesting design wise ! We also make stickers, prints, ect... In the long run, if the Warrior cats team sees that their merch doesn't sell, they'll have to understand that they need to step up their game !! They've been deceiving us for too long between the plushies and these tee shirts !

I'd just like to say on the commission thing. A company planning to monetize a commisdionntheybgot should be paying more than $30-$100 for a commission. Typically, they would give the artist a cut of the sales, or just prepay them a cut. Still, it would be affordable for the warrior cats franchise, but still, artists, if a person is monetizing your commission, ask for a cut in the sales, or charge more!
