Once Jordan Travis went down with an injury, Florida State had to turn to their backup QB to save the game. Not only did he have to save them from North Alabama, but now the pressure will be on his shoulders to help FSU win the ACC and get to the playoff. His name is Tate Rodemaker, but who is Tate, how did he get here and how good can he be?

Road a maker. He is the first qb croot Norvell signed. He has been in the system for 4 years. If you think Norvell doesn't understand Qb talent and develop it? Well, you know nothing He will never replace Travis' magic. Glenn will also get some burn as a true freshman cause of his athletic ability.

Tater is fully capable at running the offense. He can throw a rocket and get the ball down the field. He’s not as mobile as JT but with this O-line he doesn’t have to be. He will be fine!

tate can run a 4.6 40 and do a standing back-flip. He's extremely athletic; but his pocket presence, elusiveness and quickness would be his "down-side" IMO edit: forgot to add his "arm-talent" is next level (also IMO)

Tate is the ideal backup QB with starter potential - He's tall, Huge arm, Really fast and athletic (he dunks and does backflips for fun), he has 4 years in MN's system and he's loyal. He will do great if he limits turnovers

He's not a better passer. It's completely different game once you are the sole starter Jordan Travis has to lead Florida State University to an Undefeated 2023 so far with a total of 17 straight victories with a bowl victory over Oklahoma & wins vs LSU 2× before you even put him in the same breath as JT. Tate has talent, but pump the brakes, he hasn't done anything yet

TR is a warrior, some aspects of our game will be better than they were with NIL cats not wanting to do the things that got them NIL paid. Brock Glenn has some jets to scramble on as well and he can play the rest of the year without losing his redshirt...so play them both.

FSU fan, Tate been here forever, he’s a practice warrior but in games he’s struggled but the Louisville game gave me hope. 4th year under Norvell and this is the most weapons he will have. I think the staff do lil small stuff to get him ina groove and once he get confident it’s over with. He has the best arm and accuracy on the team it’s just that Jordan is the better overall QB, Tate gotta fix his decision making and pocket awareness. People gonna be surprised looking at his arm talent this Saturday night

JT13 will be cherished at FSU forever after the world saw not only the competitive athlete, but the quality human being he is. As for Tate, I believe that because he was a true team player and very humble young man he is now ready to have his moment. I think he is very capable of leading this offense and putting up huge numbers, and wouldn't be surprised if FSU wins quite easily these next few weeks.

Tate is solid, I agree JTrav is a better player, but I think Rodemaker can run this offense with the weapons he has if that makes sense. Tates arm is better and I think it’s gonna be fun to watch him get the ball to Keon and Johnny. But you do miss the mobility and magic of JTrav, not to say Tate isn’t mobile, just not as mobile. In Tate we trust, Florida Tate University

What people do not know is that this a GREAT team. With Jordan and without Jordan. Tate has been with the program for 4 years now. So, he is not stepping in like a 1st or 2nd year backup. Facts: UNA was leading FSU when Jordan was playing. 58-0 when Tate took over. You be the judge.

Lot different when you're not playing a high school team like north alabama. He only put up 2 touchdowns the rest was handing the ball off to the backs. Let's see how he handles pressure at a place like a night game at the swamp this Saturday will be a lot better way to see if he is okay or great

So they win out, but the CFP puts Texas in? I thought the committee judges the results on the field. Texas lost to Oklahoma, they lost their chance to go in over an undefeated squad. Quite honestly I would put the Ohio State/Michigan loser, or Washington with a close Oregon loss in over Texas. The Big 12 is the worst P5 conference, the ACC is not much better. But an undefeated ACC champion should get in over a one loss Big 12 Champion. Washington, Ohio State, Georgia, or Michigan would be one loss squads you could argue for. Considering they lose by the narrowest margin.

Tate will be fine in the next 2 game. My concern is in the playoffs because he holds on to the ball too long and lacks pocket presence. Against a team with an elite defense, that will be disastrous. Even JT would have problems against a team like Georgia.

The margin of error shrunk. Rodemaker had been lauded in practices but had mixed results in games. If that is any indication, he’s either going to be terrible or electric against UF.
