The Ballinger Family Admit It | Colleen Ballinger & Trent
Colleen Ballinger, also known as Miranda Sings, has recently found herself in the midst of controversy, with allegations ranging from her behavior towards fans like Adam Mcintyre, to accusations of racism, her treatment of people like Trisha Paytas, and mistreatment of her ex Josh. Jojo Siwa has defended Colleen on the Howie Madel podcast despite their controversial history. This has raised more questions about their relationship, as well as Jojo Siwa's relationship with Rachel Ballinger and other KZfaqrs such as Shane Dawson and Joey Graceffa.
Along with Rachel, other members of Colleen's family have also come under scrutiny for things that previously went under the radar, namely Trent Ballinger snd the allegations made against him along with DMs shared by former fan Oliver.
The Ballinger family have now spoken out aout the allegations.

"If you don't have my number, then you don't know me well enough to have a problem with me." is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Apparently to the Ballingers even if someone commits a crime against you, you can't be upset unless you have their #. So don't go to the police if you're assaulted until you get the digits of your assailant. smh

@@ember9361- I gave an extreme example to show how silly it is. If someone is spouting racist and sexist rhetoric, that's not a crime, but I have a problem with that. I don't need to know your #. I agree with keeping in mind there's a person on the other end of the screen. Don't send meaningless hate. That doesn't mean you shouldn't call out bad behavior. That's how people learn and hopefully grow.

@@ember9361 It's not a good sentence in any situation. If someone's saying slurs in a comment section, I need to ask for their number before criticizing them? It sounds like a reasonable sentence until you analyze it & apply it to pretty much any situation. Ideally, most of the people you need to criticize for crossing a line would be people whose numbers you don't have.

I think Jojo saying she's been around Colleen since she was 12 is exactly why she's defending her. She grew up with this behavior completely normalized around her, and people take different amounts of time to come to understand that some things that happened to them weren't okay. She isn't at fault for being a victim of Colleens's grooming, period. But I also don't think it's unfair to point out that she's demonstrably wrong in saying that Colleen did nothing wrong. Going past that and attacking her personally is gross, yes, but it's fully in the lane of the public to fact check.

@@Storming_edits I had family members who were sa'd by another family member and they were never really healed. Also, it was kept as a family secret for multiple decades. Whatever The Ballinger family is all about, I'm glad the parents discussed this with them while they are young. Personally, my parents sat me down and said if anyone wanted to "examine me" at school, I was to say no and run and tell the teacher. This was back in the mid 90's when child predators were running rampant in elementary schools. Again, whatever beliefs you have about Chris and Jess, addressing this situation with their kids is the right thing to do. I just hope there weren't any other victims and that they nipped any other inappropriate acts in the bud.

Valentina asks a valid question pertaining to Jojo Siwa's statement: how is honest criticism and and questioning of one's behavior tantamount to "destruction?" Well, these people are no longer (or no longer see themselves as) just "people." They're BRANDS. As such, any criticism is, from their perspective, destructive... to their ability to make money. But when they do wrong and are called out for it, they'll immediately remind you that they are human after all and therefore deserving of forgiveness and absolution, despite having done little or no genuine acts of contrition or penance.

I agree that the recaps are pretty repetitive after a while and especially with something like this or the iiluminaughtii situation, there’s just so much to the story that it would be better for people who don’t know what’s going on to watch the full video(s) covering what happened (imo of course) But those comments on the ballinger family channel really seem like they were written by at least two different people. It’s very strange to be like “we asked the kids if they’ve experienced anything” and then say “well I/we haven’t seen proof of these allegations” and making it sound like the actual mob is out to get them. I also love how people always wanna claim that other creators are encouraging their audiences to go harass and spread misinformation about them but they never actually say who so it just seems like they’re trying to paint themselves as a victim of mass online harassment when in reality nobody even sent their followers to attack them and most of the “hate” and “harassment” they’re referring to is just genuine criticism

If someone doesn't have the capability of understanding that they have hurt someone then it is up to the parent/guardian to make sure that they don't have access (I am sure that the people around your cousin have taken greater steps after that incident). They knew what Trent was doing (he was in Colleen's Tiny Chats group chat), they also knew that people were contacting Trent through Twitter (how Ollie started communicating with Trent) and didn't have an issue with Trent continuing to have internet access (He also had a gaming channel). I am so freaking infuriated by the fact that there's even a mention of "developmental delay" when that doesn't make you a freaking child predator. What is his alleged "delay"? Autism? That's not an illness or a disorder, the only reason why we autistic people suffer is because society actively works against us. We suffer because of ableism, not because we're autistic. Very little is adapted to us, we get almost no accessibility, something working against us and then us not being able to work with it doesn't make us stupid, it makes us victims. From what I've seen, he's super clever and very fast at solving tasks. He is disabled, but he is not "mentally delayed". Autism doesn't make you an unethical person, god fucking damn it
@armadilloalien854
@armadilloalien854 10 ай бұрын
I agree that developmental delay shouldn't be added in the comment discussing Trent. I do not believe that Trent should be called clever. It's obvious he was being very inappropriate with children, and that's why he's being called a child predator as well. Colleen also was very inappropriate with children, based on what I've seen, she could also probably be considered a child predator. It's true that autistic people are not treated right by society, I know this well enough as an autistic person myself. This being said struggle doesn't dismiss acting inappropriately. I do think that adding that he has a developmental disability is used to try to put reasoning to his actions, but as I think we both can agree, developmental delay is not a solid justification for his actions, and shouldn't have been mentioned to begin with. Additionally it's pretty clear Jessica and Colleen were also inappropriate, and are currently trying to make Trent the scape goat because they decided to throw the disabled person under the bus. Of course despite Trent obviously being a scapegoat that doesn't make him a victim in this instance, he was just the first to face consequences out of the three.

The Jojo thing frustrates and saddens me so bad. I can sympathize with Jojo to the extent that she grew up likely looking up to Colleen...and now, her worldview is being shaken by the accounts, evidence, and information both new and old. She probably made the logical fallacy of assuming it can't be true, because it never happened to her specifically, and it's somewhat of a defense mechanism to fight the truth in that way. They say 'truth hurts" for a reason, after all. But the bit that pisses me off is that in her denial and fear, she is tearing down very real and concerning allegations by people who honestly don't have the same size platform or following to back them against the hate she's going to directly and indirectly send their way by claiming they're lying. Wanting to believe the best of your hero when it's becoming more and more clear that they're just...not who you thought they were is heartbreaking. But it's not an excuse to damage these people further by denying it on the grounds of "well I knew Colleen when I was twelve and it never happened to me." Lots of us had that happen. I never watched Colleen myself, but I knew people who did...and they were around twelve at the time themselves. Not everyone has been directly harmed by Colleen. But those who have deserve to tell their stories and receive support as they pursue justice for what they went through. And Jojo has actively proven she isn't willing to listen to victims if she directly hasn't experienced the issues at hand.

Swoop ended up not being able to release the Oliver interview as making the videos on this subject was too triggering for her. That's understandable; it's a heavy subject, and she needs to take care of herself too, but I remember that he was pretty upset about it. I'm glad he got to speak here.

I will give the thought that a mental delay cud actually be a explanation that removes some of the responsibility for him, think of a young kid that’s run to mom and say daddy told me not to tell you but we did get you x In birthday present. Just because someone tells a kid not to tell anyone doesn’t mean that they actually understand the concept. Just to be completely clear his behavior is still nothing that should be accepted in any way or form! So I’m my mind it’s falls back to the parents
@i.n8826
@i.n8826 10 ай бұрын
Also, adults with mental delay sometimes relate more with children/teens than their peers, and tend to want to foster friendships with them (although typically not socially acceptable). So.. it’s not always creepy in nature, and is not “irrelevant information”. Though, the text messages were really freaking awkward, I’ll say
@Grymmorot
@Grymmorot 10 ай бұрын
@@i.n8826 being friends is omen thing that’s I think can be okay. But the impact part that is missing in this story is that the legally adult needs the understand what topics is okay to talk about with younger people. And I totally agree that the texts are so wrong!

I understand all this is wrong. But why did none of these kids make a police report all of them. No that person who did wrong may not have been arrested but there would have been a police report that if something else happens then they would have been arrested. It's not just bad behavior, it's wrong, it's breaking the law. And evil

We need regulations for the internet. I remember trying to point out the manipulation to my then pre-teen 10 years ago. Kids at that age don’t want to hear it from their parents. My now grown kid gets it now, but they were hard to convince while they were in it. Adam McIntyre was an aggressive fan. I will leave it at that.

I usually don't comment on ads, but I can't help but notice that in your Fum ad you kept saying that it helps break "bad habits" but it seems like it's actually meant to help with a very specific bad habit. I can't help but wonder why you didn't mention the words smoking, cigarettes, vapes, or anything along those lines. Was that a personal choice? Like would those words have hurt your video's chances in the KZfaq algorithm? Or were you specifically not supposed to say those words? Because if it's the latter it definitely sounds like Fum is a scam.
