We continue working on Matt’s Recovery Jeep this week as a 2nd Jeep arrives for us to disassemble and salvage parts for the Banana! We get the fenders, all 4 doors from the donor Jeep and grille all prepped. We get the hood braced with a new latch mechanism working. Last but not least we are able to remove the Banana's roof panel while we prep the new one from the parts Jeep! We have made a lot of progress and finally get all the parts primed!

Body work is sooooo detailed orientated, people don’t seem to understand the time and detail and amount of experience it takes to work on cars. I’ve seen Porsche’s being worked on from 356’s to 911’s and that’s when I really started to respect and appreciate all you body work gentle men. The time, patients, and persistence to doing and getting it right is never seen. So when that bill hits the table understand sometimes its a 3 man operation or two for some shops and the hours and labor to get the job done are not reflected (not to mention the phone or internet time to hunt for parts) . So thanks all you guys, great and fun episode (learned a lot)!

Sure, you’re doing more than needed and more than he would really expect, but a professional is always going to do the best work they are capable of within reason of what the project requires. One major reason there is a lot of sub par body work done by inexperienced people is the lack of presentations such as you are doing here. Even big name big dollar programs only show bits and pieces, and actors pretending to be experts. There is a great service that you are providing with actual highly valuable information being offered to your viewers! I think it also speaks volumes of a business owner/entrepreneur that works along side and leads the team to strive to match each others quality and work ethics, is one of the reasons I love watching Matts channel, and now also a subscriber to your channel. Keep up the great work, I feel credit should be given to the quality and style of your content production I think its killer! I truly believe theres regular people out there absorbing this stuff and the next time presented with a body work type job, their going to remember the education they nonchalantly picked up here! And any contribution to reducing the amount of quite unsafe vehicles on the roads is a benefit to society that is priceless!

1:50, Robby says "bare hands. Feel the body with your bare hands." Fifty years ago, fresh out of high school, I worked in the GM Oldsmobile factory. We made 560,000 cars that year, one every 20 seconds, 60 hours a week, 52 weeks. I worked in the Pressed Metal Shop which made the hoods and fenders. This was a FACTORY, full of grime and grit. Every last hood and fender was felt by bare-hands and the spots marked where a small grain of grit had created an imperfection. There were two men with "wipers", dust cloths on long poles who removed the grit from the surfaces of the dies inside the presses. These dies are shaped like the part (fender or hood) such that when the top half is brought down onto the bottom half, the sheet of metal between the two halves is bent into the shape of the hood or fender. One wiper cleaned the top half, the other cleaned the bottom half, based on those marks. To be clear, there were five lines of six presses, each press closing every 20 seconds and these 60 wipers cleaned in that time. It was amazing to watch. BTW, the "hood press" was a machine 20 feet by 20 feet by 40 feet tall. The top half of the die weighed 125,000 lbs. Every 20 seconds the press lifted that and brought it down in a controlled fashion. Making cars is Heavy Industry to this day.

look fore-ward to the videos every week. Matt, Paul, and you always have great content. Big Dinner slays me! I say the autographed squares from the roof should be auctioned off for a good charity.

This is awesome! Very entertaining watching all your hard work and learning about body work and your attention to detail also loved the comedy like pretending to drive with the roof skin off. You should drive another car with the roof skin off, that would be hilariousa Super excited to watch the rest of this Series 😆🇺🇲💪

We’ve been enjoying the banana project vids thanks for sharing. It’s great to see the dynamic of your team, the specialized tools you use, and most importantly the solid American work ethic. So refreshing to see folks under 40 rolling up their sleeves and putting in a solid shift. That and the snow, as a Florida native I can’t imagine how you function in that cold environment?

19:19 "these are the tools you can't buy on a tool truck"... absolutely true.. I have a friend that's good at body work and taught me a little.. yes, your hands are far more sensitive than your eyes for finding dents Funny story time: I was doing body work on my car, my GF asked "Why don't you touch me like you touch your car"... apparently the sanding motion wasn't what she was talking about

Great job! Well maybe to good for what this banana will be used for. I’m sure the first scratch, dent or ding happens we will cringe after seeing how much work went into this project but it’s worth it. Great seeing a young group taking pride in their work. Keep it and can’t wait to see the end result.

Never been into car body work but how y'all do thru videos is entertaining and educational. Of course didn't think I'd ever be watching a tow company (MORR) or Fab Rats either. All good learning how it should be done, as you go for excellence, instead of just ok. Thanks!! 😀

I really like seeing all the different processes and steps it takes to get this prepped. So many videos only show paint steps or only show major fabrication or body panel replacement. Kind of makes me want to buy some hammers and start taking swings on my own project vehicles.
