This song should be taught in Schools all over the World for it's anti wars message. Well done Eric for writing and to Liam and Tommy for recording. Bualadh Bós.

I am a wounded Vietnam veteran, I am drawn to this song like a moth to a lamp even though it flares up my PTSD and my survivor's guilt. The day after tomorrow is Veteran's Day. There will be a huge parade, Blue Angels, US Senator etc..., but I can't go. All I can do is lie in bed and pretend to try and forget, but at the same time, those who died were my friends. The Australian children's group, the Wiggles did a special version of this song for ANZAC Day last year. The founder served in the Australian military during the 80s so the song really means something to him and he wanted to honor those who had fought and died.

I remember clearly the Anzac day march's when I was a child. The boys were elderly at the time from the Gallipoli campaign, there were a few lads from the Boer War who were still marching. I think we all understood why they were marching we were very proud of them.

I imagined I was him. I even felt emotions stir inside me. I actually felt a kindard phantom pain . This kind of dying, in wars especially that war. The carnage the artillery caused was on every side. The war of broken face's some called it. Twenty year's later they we're at it again. A double war, army against army army against civilians. Next one, wipe out no analysing after the fact. The light's go out on this one.✌️☠️⚰️🥀

One more phrase needs to be added: And the rich got richer, the powerful more powerful, and the poor sent of to fight, die, kill, maim and be maimed so that the rich can get richer, the powerful more powerful and the middle class a thing of the past.? Once upon a time the US was a Republic, a Government of the People, for the People and by the People, but not now. Now the government of the US has become the government of the rich and powerful, for the rich and powerful and by those, in congress, the administration, the courts, the police and the press, who serve the rich and powerful. Jeremiah 48:10 (a)Cursed be he that doeth the work of the LORD deceitfully, and (b)cursed be he that keepeth back his sword from blood.
