Thank you for this simple and easy to understand series. As a game dev, I hated video editing and all of rendering stuff; because first --> most paid software need a ton of learning to understand, and second --> most free software are either too complicated of UI or either don't have basic editing features. OpenShot is the first software that let me overcome this, and finally edit videos without hesitation. Thank you soo much, May GOD bless you mate ♥

Really huge thanks Jonathan for this program, I have only just come across it and the more I mess with it the more impressed I am. monitors (and have done for about 20 years now) otherwise I quickly forget what is behind the window I am working in) and discovering that I can drop the preview window or really any other function window onto another monitor just put a huge smile on my face. Excellent video! I’m new to open shot and need to better my video content with edits. Pro Tip: if your computer isn’t super quick, change the video preview to a lower quality. When you export the preview quality won’t matter.

I know this video was made a long time ago, but could I ask you if it's possible to change the volume of the same mp3 track? Let's say my intro is a simple picture where I want my mp3 volume to be at 100%, but then when the video (with speaking in it) comes, how can I set the mp3 volume to 10%? I'm using the slice option, but it's very long and frustrating...thanks!

Hi Jonathan, I started using OpenShot today. It is a good software with an intuitive user interface! And tutorials are excellent too! A couple of questions: 1. Is there a way to select all the audio clips in a track, so that I can change the volume of all of them at once? 2. Is there a way to select all the audio clips to the right of the play-head, so that I can move them together as a group? This would be really helpful when trying to sync audio and video. The drag method (and the Ctrl-select method) can be used only if the clips are visible in the window. I would like to select clips including those which are currently out of view. 3. The exported file had a size much more than the sum of the sizes of all the clips used. Wondering why the file has a bloated size.

In export advanced it has end frame. The problem is that there is not an end frame in the timeline or in properties. I can click on frame number and change it to timeline but then I have to change it back before exporting. Is there an easier way to find the end frame of the selected clip?

New to OpenShot. Love it considering I have absolutely no video editing experience. One thing I can't figure out is when I use razor tool to remove parts of video I don't want and then preview video on part I kept, video doesn't show but sound plays. Any thoughts on why this is?

it's good to know one _can_ change the UI , but i currently like it the way it is : such fond memories of the 1000s of things i did in Windows Movie Maker . . . Seeing _this_ software , it's perfectly clear why microsoft purged WMM Open Source is FABULOUS !

Do you have a tutorial that tells how to shorten/edit movie clips? I have a 2-hour home movie that I want to take short clips of the best stuff and edit them together. This seems like a basic task for OpenShot, but I've been through three tutorials and can't find how to do that.
