If San Sebastian (or any part of the Basque Country!) is on your itinerary, you need to add a visit to a Basque cider house to your list of things to discover. There is nothing like a Basque cider house, and in this video, James and the Devour Tours team visit Petritegi (www.petritegi.com/es), a cider house open all year long. Watch as they devour a traditional Basque cider house meal, complete with three courses, plus dessert!
Everything they ate:
First bite: Cider-cooked chorizo
First course: Tortilla de bacalao (Salt cod omelette)
Second course: Bacalao con pimientos (Salt cod with peppers)
Third course: Txuleton (T-bone steak)
Dessert: Queso Idiazábal con membrillo y nueces (Idiazábal cheese with quince paste and walnuts)

You've really whet my (cider) appetite! Love the bacalao too!). Excellent! I've also had a thought: my daughters moan about the heat in in Spain; but in the North it's cooler - thus we can visit in the summer (then I could do a Devours Tour ;-))... Tony

Great video, everyone should visit a cider house, I just want to add that in the one we went to you have to reserve a little bit of cider in your glass then throw it into the metal gully, you can see the gully in the floor, seems a waste to me but hey ho, when in rome eh ?

This is not only found in basque country, but also in Navarra!

@@DevourTours to be fair, we the basques, have basque influence because of Nabarra, the originally place and birth of the basque culture
