I'm a BASQUE decent 👌 😊 , and I was educated in the BASQUE REGION , I had the PRIVILEGE , to have joined a CULINARY ONLY MAN CLUB , 😊 , in a TOWN called 😀 PORTUGALETE , in la RIA NERVION , the RIVER that comes down from BILBAO ...THANKS 😂

It isn't, they can cook and drink without restrictions, while the wives are relaxed knowing that they aren't fooling around with another woman.

The Basque Country is a matriarchal society. Women have no restrictions of any kind anywhere... Nor in a gastronomic society of this kind. It's part of the local folklore that here it is the men who cook for themselves and their friends, be they men or women.
