It was a battle that showed early settlers to the Darling Downs and Lockyer Valley the region's Indigenous people weren't going to give up the land that had been their spiritual home for 60,000 years without a fight.
It was a meticulously planned and well-executed military victory by an Aboriginal warrior named Multuggerah and a united army from many neighbouring tribes over European settlers who were threatening their very existence.
