On June 23, 1757, a terrible battle took place at Palashi in the Nadia district of the Indian state of West Bengal. The battle in which Sirajuddaula, the last independent Nawab of Bengali Bihar Orissa, fell only for treachery.
1757 খ্রিস্টাব্দে 23 শে জুন বর্তমান ভারতবর্ষের পশ্চিমবঙ্গ রাজ্যের অন্তর্গত নদীয়া জেলায় পলাশী নামক স্থানে সুবিশাল নবাবী আম বাগানে এক ভয়াবহ যুদ্ধ সংঘটিত হয়েছিল। পৃথিবীর ইতিহাসে এই যুদ্ধ পলাশীর যুদ্ধ নামে পরিচিত। কেবলমাত্র লোভ এবং বিশ্বাসঘাতকতার জন্য সেই দিন বাংলা বিহার উড়িষ্যার শেষ স্বাধীন নবাব সিরাজউদ্দৌলা শোচনীয়ভাবে পরাজিত হয়েছিলেন।
