Why not use deep v"s on those lakes and use a net? Not worth it fishing that kind of water in those boats. Basically a competition to see who can "NOT" tear up and sink their bass boat with their life on the line hanging onto the front deck trying to fish.....smh

Anglers are only allowed to use one boat model per season and can’t switch. So once they choose the style in event 1, they use it all year. The Bassmaster Elite Series doesn’t allow the use of nets, which explains your second point.

@BassmasterOfficial So that is what I know. The question is "why not". In other words, why not make it safer for those guys and either do what it takes to have them in the right boats for that type of water, or have the events somewhere else where a bass boat makes sense. It's advertising I'm guessing. Makes potential bass boaters feel like a bass boat is made for those conditions. Watching the weather is first and foremost, but of course weather doesn't always go as planned. Even the deep v's will be limping back if caught out, so why risk contenders safety in a bass boat, and make people feel like it's not a bad idea to try those types of water in a bass boat? Also, "why not" ateast allow the use of a rubber net instead of hanging over the boat almost falling in from waves coming over the boat to pick up a fish?

@@livebig247 skill is always on display. Skill in navigating and judging water. Skill in landing fish with limited or no aid. This is the top level. Not amateurs. Professionals, and they show why. They do so in conditions others couldn’t without other assistance. That’s all.

@@livebig247they’re professionals for a reason - they can assess whether they can safely run to the lake or stay in the river. Happened at the tournament there in August - most guys opted to stay in the river on Day 1 because of the wind on the lake. And if you can’t drive a bass boat in rough water, you sure don’t belong at the Elite Series level LOL
