Sometimes I wish that I had a time machine so I can go to a Beatles concert
@paperviewcast
@paperviewcast 5 жыл бұрын
People always assume it’s easy to watch a band or artist in concert with a time machine. You’ve also got to find a ticket, which wasn’t easy in those days without the internet, especially for a Beatles concert, and how are you going to pay for it? You don’t have any old money, (Ok, you might have a coin or two but I’m talking about enough money) so presumably, you'd have to work for it, meaning you'd either have to find an odd job to do (British for a cash-in-hand job, like painting a wall in a house for someone, for example) or actually become employed in a real job, and how are you going to do that without any experience on your CV? You cant use your current experience, because that’s experience from what would be in that time, the future, so you're trying to find employment with a blank CV. Now, of course that’s possible but not easy; that is, if you don’t go down the finding an odd job route. All these things people don’t consider...

I lived through the Beatles and no words could ever convey to those not around then what these days were like - even to say it was a global revolution doesn't come close to doing the Beatles and these amazing times in the 60s justice. The excitement was off the scale. I'm 72 now and nothing from then till now can match those days.

I know it shouldn't make me feel sad, but I watch these guys sing and I cry about John and cry over how young and innocent they (and we all) were. And how they brought us all so much joy with their music. I wish I could go back in time and hear "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" and "I Saw Her Standing There" and all of those wonderful old songs ---- for the very first time, all over again. The Beatles: Their like shall never be known to us again. It is amazing to have all of these videos as proof of their genius. Words cannot express the happiness they brought me and to all of us lucky enough to have grown up with them.

Sometimes when I look at the front bedroom window, I swear I can see a face peering out. May be its my imagination? Or could John be paying a visit to a place he was happy & content.

I think Paul really enjoyed being a Beatle more than the other three. He was deeply depressed and drinking heavily after their break-up. Linda deserved a lot of credit for helping him out of it, so I've heard. Without Paul, there would be no "Sergeant Pepper", Magical Mystery Tour" and"Abbey Road", to name a few. Yes, his perfectionism and heavy handedness in the studio was well documented. But after Brian Epstein died, no one else stepped up to take the lead. Finally, everything just imploded. But he was truly dedicated to the band until it was clear they couldn't work together anymore.
@michaelulbricht9438
@michaelulbricht9438 Жыл бұрын
I agree with what you said. Paul said he was depressed and drinking heavily for a couple of years after The Beatles broke up, yet he still made McCartney and Ram. He's still playing 2 & 1/2 hour concerts today. Also, he was right about Allen Klein being a crook. He played the most instruments and had the best vocals in the group, too. Also, Paul has always maintained that without the 4 of them they wouldn't have become The Beatles. He's truly respectful of their legacy, as well. Take care and Peace!
@gergelyhorvath4462
@gergelyhorvath4462 Жыл бұрын
Paul couldn't imagine his life without the Beatles at the time, while John and George practically only imagined it without them. Paul was really a "team player". His solo career spanning more than fifty years is a certainty of this. It doesn't even come close musically. It is also true that he was the most skilled in terms of both singing and playing instruments, but he was far behind John in terms of charisma and individuality (although he was also the handsome boy, the favorite of young girls). And the latter are almost more important factors in art.

@michaelulbricht9438
@michaelulbricht9438 Жыл бұрын
@@blissfulbaboon Actually, it was the alchemy and synergy of all 4 members who made them what they were. I've heard many times and on many different songs that they were so tight that often they nearly "telepathically" made slight changes and adjustments on songs that they were working on. When I was young I was more of a "Lennonist," but just listening to them continue to grow and experiment with new sounds I realized that all of them "were in on it." In fact, that's "the secret" to the Beatles. Being a musician myself that's what I finally figured out. I've never seen or heard such consistent versatility since. My favorite Lennon Beatles song is Dear Prudence. Ringo had quit briefly and Paul not only played melodic bass lines, but his drumming was instrumental to the flow, also. George's guitar fills were exquisite, and their multi-tracked backing vocals were spot on. Take care and Peace!

If you hear closely, George's solo in this video is muted and replaced by the solo played in the original record.

There's another video of this song (in the same concert) in KZfaq, it's called "The Beatles A Hard Day's Night Live In Paris 1965". You can hear the real solo played live, but it sounds really low. Maybe that's why they overdubbed it.

methinks the solo had some "help," in post-production. ;)

Lyrics: It's been a hard day's night And I've been workin' like a dog It's been a hard day's night I should be sleepin' like a log But when I get home to you I find the things that you do Will make me feel alright You know I work all day To get you money to buy you things And it's worth it just to hear you say You're gonna give me everything So why on Earth should I moan? 'Cause when I get you alone You know I feel okay When I'm home Everything seems to be right When I'm home Feeling you holding me tight, tight, yeah It's been a hard day's night And I've been workin' like a dog It's been a hard day's night I should be sleepin' like a log But when I get home to you I find the things that you do Will make me feel alright, ow So why on Earth should I moan? 'Cause when I get you alone You know I feel okay When I'm home Everything seems to be right When I'm home Feeling you holding me tight, tight, yeah Oh, it's been a hard day's night And I've been workin' like a dog It's been a hard day's night I should be sleepin' like a log But when I get home to you I find the things that you do Will make me feel alright You know I feel alright You know I feel alright

It's called F9 I think. You add the G note on the high e string to a regular F to get that chord.

Paul had to sing the bridge because John couldn’t reach the notes, and Paul just barely could.

no. he sang that section of the song because he wrote it. both of them could sing it without any kind of problem cause they were skilled singers.
