Extraordinary drumming by Ringo on this track. In fact it was all on point, from Paul's bass playing and George's droning guitar to John's spot-on vocals.

this song was revolutionary when it was released... it was the first psychedelic song most of us had ever heard, and only the Beatles could have gotten commercial radio to play a song like this

The birth of backwards music (that’s why they’re laughing at the end. You can’t lip sync that for a video lol.) I always laugh at Paul’s chipped front tooth. It’s even more apparent in the ‘Paperback Writer’ video ❤

They were independent all along. George Martin wanted their first single to be a song written by a "professional" song writer. They held out and their first single -- both sides -- was written by John and Paul.

Probably my sentimental favorite Beatles song. I was in 2nd grade at home recovering from the Mumps when it came out. I listened to a lot of my sister’s 45s. Really got into the philosophy of what Lennon was singing n those awesome harmonies n drumming!

Ringo was the perfect drummer for this band. I don't believe, in my heart of hearts, that there could have been another that would have contributed to their unique style and sound as he did. Every instrument can be clearly heard. Very, very British.

I swear this is my favorite Beatles tune...saying a lot as I owned every album (except Let It Be). Revolver (this was recorded at the same time, but they had too many tracks for Revolver) was my first & favorite album at 12. But RAIN! & R I N G O !!! Tunes: George: All Those Years Ago, Beautiful Girl, Handle With Care, What Is Life... lots of others but I'm sure many people will recommend. Photograph, It Don't Come Easy, I'm the Greatest, Back Off Boogaloo, and, so lovely, Early 1970. Lots more as Ringo remains very active & has lots of folks working with him.

My Sweet Lord is probably George's best-known song. Give Me Love is a favorite of mine too. Ringo's best-known songs are It Don't Come Easy and Photograph. I don't know if you've heard George's best Beatle songs. Here Comes the Sun, Something and While My Guitar Gently Weeps are top-tier Beatle songs. Yellow Submarine and Octopuses' Garden from Ringo are considered essential Beatle songs as well.

I love the Beatles mid 60s music.. If only they could've gone on touring a bit longer while technology was catching up to the need for more powerful PA systems. The Beatles had 2 or 3 roadies which is ridiculous by today's standards. I wasn't interested in music until I heard the Beatles. I think it was "I Want to Hold Your Hand". It was ear candy to me. The more I listened to them the more addicted I became. That was many years ago but I still love their music.

"Rain" and some tracks from "Revolver" can be interpreted as prototypes of 1990s (!) Brit pop. "Rain" is the Beatles' first foray into the realm of psychedelic rock, with which they should also set further standards. By the way, the last 30 seconds of the song run backwards. Even as a Die hard Beatles fan, I'd consider a fuller study of Ringo Starr's solo stuff to be a waste of time. A few nice singles, occasional collaborations with his Beatles buddies, and a lot of gruesome stuff released on record throughout his career. His 1973 opus "Ringo" is generally considered, to be his best album. In the 2000s he occasionally managed, to do more acceptable things on albums. But apparently you want to listen to that. 😄I did it just for the sake of completeness. Ringo Starr is a notable drummer, but was hardly a positively conspicuous songwriter. His live shows are still very entertaining to this day, in which he surrounds himself with numerous top-class musicians in his Ringo Starr "All-Starr Band" and delivers lively shows.

J, maybe try googling their solo work. You CANNOT go wrong with George Harrison's ALL THINGS MUST PASS cd (1970) Living in the Material World or his last cd BRAINWASHED or his work with the Traveling Wilburies. As for Ringo, try Ringo (1973) an album where all the Beatles helped out. Also, singles, it Don't Come Easy & Photograph.
