Great list Larry. Several of yours would be on mine too. As you said so many underrated songs by the Beatles. No other group can come close imo to their whole output let alone their underrated ones.

Great list, Larry. Can’t argue with any of those - all excellent tracks. The amazing thing is, I could come up with a list of 20 different underrated songs and they would be just as brilliant! Note: “Wait” was on the UK Rubber Soul but the song was actually a leftover from the Help! sessions. “ I’ve just seen a face” is the track that was on the UK version of Help!

So glad you mentioned the night before. That’s actually my favorite song on the help album.😊

"I Want You" I don't consider underrated. The same goes for "If I Fell". I just feel like they're songs that most Beatles fans love. My top three songs would probably be "Within You Without You", "Long, Long, Long" and "Yer Blues". Other ones I'd also add: "Martha My Dear", "She's Leaving Home". Great list, though, I always enjoy watching your view on the Beatles.

I still love "Little Child" from Meet The Beatles

Long, Long, Long is the most underrated song in my opinion. I feel like it truly doesn't get that love it deserves. I hear practically no one discuss it, and as one of my favorite Beatles songs, I wish it got more love. Further pointing on the topic of "it's a boring track" argument that you brought up, I mean, you're likely to think that if you aren't into the slower stuff. I certainly didn't like nor even know of its existence when I was younger as I was that way. But now I know...quiet, relaxing, and when George's vocals are isolated, it's even better. It's simply just overshadowed by While My Guitar Gently Weeps and even Savoy Truffle (both great songs too).

Apart from the title song, by far the strongest track on Let It Be is I've Got a Feeling. It's inexplicable why that one didn't make the new extended version of the Blue Album. By that standard, I've Got a Feeling must be the most underrated song in the entire Beatles catalogue.

Baby You're a Rich Man, Good Morning Good Morning, and I've got a Feeling. Love the bass and swirling melotron on Rich Man. Good Morning has some great lyrics " go to show you hope she goes" and " take a walk by the old school, nothing has changed it's still the same." I've Got a Feeling is an excellent hard rock song which wouldn't be out of place on the White Album.

The thing that has always amazed me Larry were the Beatles songs that were never released as singles,songs that would have been big hits for any other artist,great songs like It Won't Be Long,Anytime At All,You Can't Do That,You're Going To Lose That Girl,I've Just Seen A Face and Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds and yes Ob La Di Ob La Da is a great song! John's best voice was definitely between 1963 and 1965. I believe his voice is a big part of why Beatlemania happened. As far as 'She said, she said' not having Paul on it.., I believe they figured out during the remixing that Paul did get his bass line recorded before he ran off. But wasn't there for vocal overdubs.

Two of Us has always been in my top ten Beatle songs. It's in my 'Beatles' songs that sound great today' playlist. Same with Yer Blues and I Want You (She's So Heavy).

All fantastic choices, I’ve always thought Yes It Is & I’ll Get You are criminally underrated. I recently did a Paul McCartney parody interview, highly recommend to watch it when you get the chance.

There are no underrated Beatles songs, every song is fantastic. I know Hey Bulldog was underrated for quite a while.

Generally , George Harrison songs are very underrated & sure enough you have a few in the top reaches of your picks. Dear Prudence is my most underrated Beatles song & fortunately Siouxsie & The Banshees covered it & gave it some exposure.

Well done Larry! An exceptionally insightful group of 'underrated' Beatles songs. You mostly have my taste in Beatles songs even though you are more of a pro post Beatles McCartney fan, while I am more a John fan (got the glasses to prove it too!), esprecially his first two LPs. Over time I have appreciated Paul's genius and recognize that he and John were the perfect two man team. George had some great tunes as well while Ringo is the world's most underrated drummer (some nice singing too; 'Boys, 'I wanna be your Man', 'With a Little Help from my friends' etc etc)! The best band ever! From my very personal POV you made only one 'wrong' choice' and that is 'She's So Heavy' which today is one of those 'to be skipped songs' for me as is most of 'Abbey Road' and 'Let It Be'. Of course both of these 'disappointing LPs' would be Masterpieces for other bands and both LPs do include some of their best tunes as well. I much prefer John's rocker voice ('Twist and shout', 'Rock N'Roll Music') over Paul's Daffy Duck screams which ruined 'Helter Skelter' as well as 'Oh Darling' which makes me shudder like scratching a blackboard. Still Pauls sweeter tones are his forte IMHO as are his fantastic bass playing (top 3 for me) and his silken harmonies!
