Beautiful French actress Michele Morgan, now living in Hollywood decides to build her dream home with the money she had made from her hit movie "Joan of Paris." Michele hired Architect J.F Wadkins, in 1941, he builds her dream home, now famous, on Cielo Drive in Beverly Hills, California.
In her autobiography "Avec Les Yeux-là", Michele Morgan, tells an ominous anecdote about moving to Hollywood during WWII. Once she arrived, she had a house built at 10050 Cielo Drive, slightly isolated from the other star mansions. She was really scared at the thought of staying alone at the place and claimed that she often heard "sinister" noises. She initially hired some domestics to keep her company, but eventually sent them away when they turned out to be drunkards and thieves. For a while she kept living there with a friend, but, once she married William Marshall, he demanded that she sell the mansion and move in with him because, in his family's conservative views, it was dishonorable for a man to live at his woman's place.
In 1969 the house became the site of Sharon Tate's murder by the followers of Charles Manson.

..This beautiful large piece of art was sitting on gorgeous location in a dreamland...Little did the Beverly Hills know. .that it'd turn into a most depressing murder house on a cursed weekend night towards the end of the 60's... 😔 ..That location is only scary. .during high magnitude Earthquakes.....There used to be a well on the property when Michelle Morgan was living there...I wonder if it was discarded or removed as Sharon Tate & Roman Polanski rented the abode when Terry Melcher left it... ..I never got the chance to see some of the interiors of 10050 Cielo Dr. home before...Thanks a trillion to Mr. Smith for the opportunity... . . 🙏🏼

Thanks for posting this vintage video! I cant get over how bald the grounds are of trees and vegetation. We see from the crime scene photos in the late 60s that it was quite well hidden from view by trees and bushes. Such a shame it was demolished in 1993. Surely someone would have loved it, despite its dark past. Cheers from Canada : )

Some of the houses in a suburban Philly town (Elkins Park) built in the 40s have a French look and the interior detail - fireplaces, bookshelves, woodwork etc. - are really beautiful. My mother’s rich relatives had a house from that era with yellow kitchen appliances including (in 1946) a dishwasher!

I wonder if she lived to see what happened to her house? I love the big porches and lots of windows. Thats a really good question. I also wonder if she had heard and what she had thought as she did not like living there alone. She claimed to have heard "sinister" noises. Mark Lindsay of "Paul Revere and his Raiders" claimed that there was something "off" about the master bedroom, how he would walk all the way from the front door, around the house, to get to the pool rather than go through the French doors off of the master bedroom. It was Rudy Altobelli, the man who owned the house when Sharon was murdered, who made up the claim that there was a "lady in white" ghost who had killed herself on the property because she caught her husband cheating on her and would chase off pretty young women. But Rudy was openly gay during a time when that was not acceptable and I do believe he was a bit bitter about that and was a bit misogynistic and didn't like Mark or Terry Melcher having women in his house. Its plausible, as Rudy Altobelli sued Sharon's parents for "damages" resulting from the attack on their daughter. If that isn't lowlife and disgusting, then I don't know what is. Especially with the image of Sharon's father on his knees washing up his daughters blood from the carpet. Altobelli was a disgusting man.

So once again the word "Cielo" (Sky) appears in the news, almost 50 years to the day. A tragic coincidence? I don't know. But what is certain is that nothing has been learnt in the last 50 years, with talk of "race wars". What is ironic is the latest massacre occured in El Paso, a Spanish name (along with San Francisco San Diego Los Angeles, San Antonio etc. etc.). Don't these "white kids" get taught American History in their schools?

It was so much more cozy and polished looking then. When Sharon lived there I don't even recall seeing any window dressing aside from cheap looking black out kind of shades in the guest bedroom. I think I heard Sharon was going to redecorate but of coarse never got a chance to. George Smith you may know this but others may not, in the master bedroom are night stands that were there when Lillian Gish lived there. I just discovered this not long ago and found it interesting.

The music is the score from the brilliant movie To Kill A Mockingbird. So beautiful and so unbelievably sad. I have often thought of the terror these innocent people lived that night. And when the few remaining members have gone up for parole and they have their letters attesting to what wonderful people they have become. And then the look on their face when their parole was denied, they actually looked pissed! And was it Susan Adkins and Tex Watson who had become " born again" Gee they got the chance to be born again and little Paul and wasn't given even one chance to be born at all. These subhuman pieces of s--t were given life when they should have been given death as painful and frightening as they gave Steve, Sharon , her baby, Jay, Abigail, Voytec Leno and Rosemary. They had to have been so scared. These creeps didn't deserve life in prison.
