I really don’t get why this movie didn’t get the attention it deserved. It’s honestly in my top 20 movies of all time and every time I watch it, I love it more. I think people may have saw the dream sequences and though that it was too cheesy or had acting but that was the whole point of those scenes. The day dreams were an unrealistic part of Walters life and he saw them as epic movie scenes of his life that never happened. We’ve all dreamed that we stopped a gas station robbery and said a badass line afterwards, we swept the girl of our dreams off her feet and lived happily ever after, or we all dreamt of quitting our job and telling our boss off with negative consequences. The real life moments in this film is what makes Walters character real. He’s a charicture in his dreams, but you see how he really acts and he feels like someone I would find in the real world. Ben Stiller should’ve had a directing nom or acting nom that year. And the scene with Sean Penn about beauty is found in the most unlikely of places and that is proven in the final scene where we learn what was the last cover photo. This movie should get more hype, if you haven’t seen it, see it!

I think that critics were expecting to see a silly movie, just like the ones Ben Stiller was used to make. They wanted more daydreams scenes. They didn't got the point of the film at all

The secret life of walter mitty is one of my favorite feel-good movies of all-time. This is an inspiring movie that is both heartwarming and thought-provoking that deeply resonates yourself to discover the meaning of life. It has a great storyline, beautiful cinematography and incredible soundtrack. This also will taught you a life lesson through guiding you to have an adventure around the world wherever you want to be and mostly taught us about life as well. A reminder that no one's dream is impossible and gives us a hopeful message for everyone to stop dreaming and start living. Live your life to the fullest. And most of all this film reminds me that life is about courage and going into the unknown.

And i've spoke about "movies" not "all the movies" of the channels, so maybe there kind og a generalisation here? I remember seeing this movie at about 11, it was around the time I could start watching movies critically. As a kid who was constantly getting told off for daydreaming and had trouble distinguishing reality sometimes it had a really vivid impact on me.

I was in 6th grade when I thought this was a comedy movie and I told my bro to play it , he was much older to me and loved it . I hated it , I decided to watch it again in high school and damn !!! It changed my life and my view of its purpose.

Absolutely love this film it’s just one of those rare films that literally made me laugh and smile in theaters and I was sad yet so happy that I bothered to watch it in theaters when the credits rolled
