3 is a fascinating number in deed. It’s quite fundamental to the very existence of our universe. 3 quarks (2 up, 1 down) form a proton. 3 quarks (1 up, 2 down) form a neutron. The protons and neutrons then form the atoms that makes everything in our universe.

Probably the most eery pattern I found about "3" relates to how many entities, figures, etc. is needed to administrate an organization, whether that's a business, government, or some other high-impact group. I often hear a group needs three particular kinds of people to make a startup - a hacker/geek, a visionary/hippie, and an adult/moderator. In a constitutional government, there are (supposed to be) three branches of government - the judiciary, the legislature, and the executive. And I could go on. But what is spooky is that, somehow, the number three keeps coming up when it comes to the organization of power. The definition of power has nothing to do with numbers, yet here I am finding power structures from different domains headed by three figures.

People Say I'm "Crazy". That's what "They" SAY. . . .However, I can Tell You for a FACT. After all, let's be realistic - We live - at least for now - in a "weird world". For me, five is the complete number. I’ve always known that three was significant to other people, and that for some reason that number was important, but for some reason for me it’s always been five. I need only look at the day before yesterday, yesterday, today, tomorrow, the day after. There’s darkness, twilight, light, twilight, and darkness. You have five fingers on each hand. I could go on, but that gives that idea
@kaelon9170
@kaelon9170 2 жыл бұрын
It's the same for me actually, with five feeling more significant. I suppose it might be a regional or cultural thing. e.g. while in English there's yesterday, today, and tomorrow, in Dutch there's eergisteren, gisteren, vandaag, morgen en overmorgen. Eergisteren being the day before yesterday and overmorgen being the day after tomorrow.

(Copied my comment): My lucky number is 4, I don't really believe in anything but this number stuck with me for my life. I have some reasons but funny enough, 3 has to do with this. 3 Just looked like this superior number for my just like you are explaining in this video. But there is this saying: "Better a little more then less." and since 3 is so exact and complete I choose 4 over 3. Because that made 3 + 1 so you would always have 1 more and never less or exactly 3. Maybe weird I know, but try and look at my perspective about 4 this way: Whenever someone counts down from 1, 2, 3, And then do something, the moment you do something would be on 4. It's also ads up to the 4 main elements of the earth: Earth, water, fire, wind. Also the way he explained how life works: Born (That would be 1) Live(2) And Die(3) but everything outside that is 4 for me, the unknown infinity outside that for me is that extra 1 wich makes 4 in total. Another reason is that okay with 3 points you can have the first shape wich is a triangle, but, you can never get it to a 3D shape with the 3 points availabe. You will need 4 points to create volume, otherwise you would only have a 2D triangle shape. And volume is what makes anything possible in this world if you think about it. Anyway, I hope you kind of understand why 4 is superior for my now. I also just read someone's comment about why 2 is better xD but yeah people will make a mind off there own so if you got this far reading my comment, thank you, I don't normally write this long but thaw this was pretty intresting to show the internet.

There can be many things about three. One of the most interesting things I find is the paper Period three implies chaos. However, the content seems to be a little bit too many questions without further investigation. And most of them just confirmation bias and the incarnation of Benford’s Law except that one and two are much more common, so common that the author disregarded them…

This might be a little bit out there, but we can even say that the nature of our experience of reality is a pattern of three. Past, present, and future are all experienced under a unique and separate lens of consciousness. With the past and the future we can choose to experience these states in our projections and ruminations, but with the present we have to actually cease 'intentionality' in order to really experience. To exercise presence is to acknowledge the paradigm of our mind's default mode of operation and choose the third option not typically recognized in the standard dichotomy of thought. Maybe that awesome feeling we get when we're fully present in that immaterial third mode of being, is the reason we love third options so much. Thanks for sharing Aperture, big inspiration for my own content.

Hello Carmen. We can decipher the presence of "two" as part of a sequence involving "three" or the "many" such as the one-two-many (generalized) early counting system. We also see this in the primary, secondary, tertiary structures of proteins. We also see this in the usage of three fingers (two fingers and one thumb) to support a pen or pencil. We... however, do not see this in the presence of life on the 2nd planet in this solar system. While there is a double helix to DNA, we also have the triplet code. And while there are dualities in particle physics, we also have three families of fundamental particles. Needless to say, the "two" is important, but it may be more profitable for us to view it in a larger context involving the "three". In addition, when we take stock of the different number patterns being used by humans as cognitive orientations, we find that out of all the infinity of numbers there are only a very few being used such as twos, threes, fours, fives, sixes, sevens, etc... This fact suggests we humans are being subjected to an environmentally imposed restriction as a survival mechanism under incrementally deteriorating conditions.

This is a case of seeing what we are searching for. Searching for patterns of 3 makes us ignore patterns of any other number. Imagine how many patterns of 0 since there is so many things that could have happened but never actually happened or 1 because everything we acknowledge has happened at least once. It’s like changing car and only now seeing others with similar cars even if they were crossing your path many times. You could do a video about since I find this psychological aspect really interesting. You fell in a hole that you fell in more than once. It’s so easy to forget that our mind seeks information we are looking for and here it seems you were searching for patterns of 3. It happens to everybody, even for the best of us. We find patterns because it’s easier to remember patterns of number greater than 1 than to remember everything as its own exceptional self. So, I find the video interesting but not for the number 3. I find it interesting for the psychological experiment with you being unconscious about this effect that help us all remember things as it was having an effect on you.

I entirely agree that this is a great trap we as humans fall for, finding only what we seek. It is an inherent bias we have towards proving our point, ignoring anything that may suggest otherwise. But for the number 3 I really do think it is the most significant number in human history, bias aside.

While I can appreciate the "4", I am inclined to view it as a three to one ratio. For example, we say north-south-east (and) west. The "and" is a point of demarcation between the first three and the next one. We see this same thing when counting. A comma is place between each successive grouping of three such as ones-tens-hundreds (comma) thousands. Another example is to notice that both DNA and RNA have the same three amino acids (adenosine-cytosine-guanine) , with each of them (respectively) having a separate one: Thymine- Uracil. In some television shows we see three females and one male such as the old Charlie's Angels series or the old Superman series such as Perry White-Jimmy Olsen-Clark Kent + Lois lane. In all cases we can count "four", but a three-to-one ratio may be the more significant identity.

We need 3 points to make a triangle because triangle is a 2d shape. And to make any n dimensional figure in a n dimension space we always need at least (n+1) vertices. Eg. • Line - 1d figure - requires (1+1) vertices. • Pyramid - 3d figure - requires (3+1) vertices So nothing special in the triangle case either.

Without time, there would be no actual interaction, no movement, no primordial force, may that be nuclear, electromagnetic or gravitational. Time is a constant in the reality we live, there is reason we call it space/time, they are part of the same. And dont get me started on all the current theories i announced about there being actually 6 dimensions with the calabi yau manifold, superstring theory, you name it. This idea comes from: *** Laozi (author of Tao Te China): Dao produces one. One produces two. Two produces three. Three produces the ten thousand things. (In classical Chinese, the "ten thousand things" means "everything." Commentators have long disagreed over what the "one, two, and three" refers to, usually plugging in their favorite cosmological, cosmogonic, or metaphysical model.) Laozi further writes: Something amorphous & consummate existed before Heaven & Earth. Solitude! Vast! Standing alone, unaltering. Going everywhere, yet unthreatened. It can be considered the Mother of the World. I don't know its name, so I designate it "Dao." Compelled to consider it, name it "Great."

Living in a world created with 3 dimensions, the special number makes everything connect to each other, none missing. All points on a triangle are connected to each other. This is one fact that makes 3 seem to be the locus of completeness.

why does a triangular prism have 4 sided? and we move thru a 4th dimension of time and it’s possible other higher dimensions exist. a number is just a number, there’s no special significance at all. continuing to hold beliefs with out a good reason makes your brain easily tricked.

@@guitarspadeschess6908 First one's interesting, I forgot about that one. Yea, a 3 dimensional tetrahedron has 4 points, all equidistant. There really is no significance in the number, but the value is important.

@@a_bush yea for sure. i enjoy most aperture content, but i just found this incredibly underwhelming. seemed like he literally just googled “things that come in 3” and rattled them off claiming hidden meaning with absolutely supporting evidence. he mentions 3pt shot in basketball like dude humans literally created that value arbitrarily, and fails to mention there are 2pt AND 1pt shots and even a 4pt play is possible with a 3+1 foul shot. lol he lost like 30 iq for me here.

Fun fact, the human brain naturally quantifies things not linearly as we do today, but in log base 3. Or at least that's what I heard in a podcast from radio Lab

However, when we look at this small list which you outlined, no one seems to notice that it is especially limited... compared to the infinity of numbers at our disposal. This suggests that humans (and all biological creatures in their own way) are being subjected to a limitation that I believe is due to the presence of an incrementally deteriorating environment. We are using only a few numbers because we are being restricted to do so as a (short term) survival mechanism which we can psychologically describe as rationalization.

I think 2 is the perfect number... at least it's more common. 2 Eyes, 2 lanes of traffic, opposites (up, down/hot, cold/in/out) oh yea, and after that last one, there's 2 parents, a couple. There's even the word pair for 2, which is much more common than trio. Then again, 1 is waaaaayyyy more common than 2. Any random incident happens once.
