@@beeharbour - Hey there "regular schmoe", I was born the same year as Rob and Mo and grew up with their music. Robin was immensely respected among his peers and Maurice said he would love to have a voice like his brother's...and Maurice was certainly no schmuck vocally. People like Brian May, Elton John and others said Rob was an idol of theirs. Listen to Rob early on in songs like "Close another door". He was only 16 but sang as such an old soul! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/e9hmY6pzvJbZYYU.html At the very end of the song especially his voice is astounding. Many people thought he was black. Hope you enjoy it. Let me know. The uniqueness of Robin was his emotion and natural ability to convey it so easily and effortlessly. He could reach into your heart like no other. He was very intelligent and a deep thinker, more so after his experience in the tragic train accident which Barry said really affected him. His brothers said he was a walking encyclopedia. When you saw his eyes close, he was on another planet entirely and took us with him. Other beauties are Days of Wine and Roses and Don't cry alone. Also loved Juliet and Boys do fall in love. More upbeat. Enjoy.

Great review of a great song :-). Of newer songs where Robin is lead you could try Rings Around The Moon or Wedding Day. And then there of course are the "National Anthem" for Isle Of Man called Ellan Vaninn, which has been recorded in several version both by the Bee Gees and Robin solo Also Bee Gees made a cover (one of the few) of Carole Kings Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow where Robin's Bridge in the middle of the song is fantastic. Carole King even stated that this was possible the best rendition of the song she ever heard.

You will hear parts of "The New York Mining Disaster", "Run to Me", "Holiday", "I Can't See Nobody", And 'How Can you Mend a Broken Heart." You will also see how important Robin's voice was in the early days, before he was pushed aside, so to speak, for Barry's falsetto during the disco years.

Ellen Montgomery - More of a marketing ploy to get the "pretty boy" out front for the girlies. Robin got the shaft and I think he knew it. Maybe that is why he became more quiet and even sullen later on. Sadly and undeservedly, it took the wind out of his sails.

WEDDING DAY, Bee Gees. Live by Request version [there many, but find the LBR version]; Robin's voice really stands out in this one at the end. The harmonies are impeccable too. Jay, I would like too hear what you think. Best wishes always.

as with all their songs they actually sing from the heart and "feel" what message the song delivers. truly makes it a true pleasure to share the feelings of their music on a personal level.

React to Words. I saw The Bee Gees in 1978. When Barry sang the first three words the crowd screamed so loud you couldn’t hear the rest of the song!!!!!!!

Here's a vote for Bernadette as well. A tremendous performance from their outstanding catalogue. I think we can make a long weekend party listening to their hits without ever hearing the same one twice. Though never hitting the repeat button would prove very difficult.

If you want more amazing Robin vocals in songs where he shares lead with Barry, try For Whom the Bell Tolls, Run to Me, This Is Where I Came In, Alone. Also try some of Robin's solo work. He had the best solo career of all the brothers. Try the excellent Saved By the Bell, Juliet, Another Lonely Night in New York. And from his final album released after his death, Days of Wine and Roses, and Don't Cry Alone. Also, all three brothers wrote nearly all the Bee Gee's songs together. People frequently say Barry wrote the songs, but they are wrong, it was a collaborative effort between them all.

You’re cranking them out fast, J! Great song-powerful yet sad. Robin’s voice is definitely beautiful and capable of conveying and evoking motion. His voice was an amazing gift. I was recently watching a documentary about The Bee Gees, and Robin’s wife talked about how she’d wake up in the night and hear Robin’s heavenly voice wafting through the house because he’d gotten up and gone to another room to create music. Can you imagine how cool that would have been?
