New Pursuit of Wonder book: www.amazon.com/dp/B08D4VSD88
A short fiction story about a man who finds himself at the beginning and end of everything.
This story is entirely fictional. The concept of artificial intelligence, mind uploading, and a future "singularity" is immensely complex, uncertain, and could go any number of ways. This story is not intended to be educational or speculative on those matters, but rather a reflection on the idea of achieving everything those matters seem to be striving towards, and what might come after.

I felt like a creature to the earth on acid. The earth was so beautiful. So beautiful and unique, and it needs to be protected. The stars and milky way brought me back to how I looked into the night sky as a kid; the thoughts of how small and insignificant we are in the universe. My ego and self interest vanished. All the greed, materialism, the pressures, the stigmas, the racism and privilege, all of that doesn’t matter. We are just like any other creature, but we have a choice, and we are responsible for that choice. I cried over the slow death of her (the earth) and the disgusting humanity within it.

In Hinduism the story or mythology of the God Shiva was that when he was first born he was very angry. One of his names is Rudra or Raudra. It means one who howls or cries violently. I wonder if some people never get over having to separate from their birth mothers and spend the rest of their lives being angry. If only we could merge back into the nothingness, now that would be something. I have an idea let's make a whole religion around this concept. Then we can feel better about our predicament by exploiting others. Yeah! (Sarcasm)

I've noticed on this channel that everytime I watch a video in which the protagonist goes on to do absolutely amazing things, usually involving living forever, one of the major motivational factors is a parent passing away. And if it's a male protagonist, it's the mom that passes away, and the dad for a female.

When I was in elementary, we were told that God made humans out of clay and that we were "baked" at different temperatures, thus having different skin colors. Clay was definitely a fitting name.

Hey my religion thought me that to... well the clay (or earth) part but not the part where they cooked those clays at different temperature. Demons are made out of fire while angels are made out of light. When I was little I thought it was pretty cool because I thought that means that I'm an earth bender.

"What is God? Is it a what? Or is it a who? Is it an it? Is he a he? Is she a she? Believers say that God is the entity that created creation. Everything you see is the work of God: trees, hills, bumble bees, pancakes, stars, chocolate pudding, lava, incandescent light bulbs. God made it all. He's a busy guy, if he is a guy, and if he exists, and if he is discernible to the human mind. God. Is it just something to scream when we're mad or when we're cumming? Is he just someone to thank before every meal? Is she our mother earth, forests sewn into her skin like hairs and rivers strewn throughout her body like veins? What is God? Maybe God is an if. If we don't know the answer, then the answer is God. If God makes us feel good, then God is real. If all my friends believe that there is a God, then there is a god. Maybe God is a contingency plan; an ejector seat when reality becomes too difficult. Some say that God is manifest in the splendor of the universe. Why then is he not manifest in the squalor of the universe? We say "God damn it!" when we stub our toe, as if God will hear us and smite the table that we stubbed it on. We say, "God willing," when we hope that God will intercede on the behalf of our cause. We say "God bless you," when someone sneezes, because apparently God cares a lot about the rapid expulsion of mucus from your nostrils. We say, "God help us," when doom approaches. We say, "Oh my God," when exasperation overtakes us. We say, "Why, God?" when malady afflicts us. We say, "God works in mysterious ways" when what we really mean is that the universe acts in random and callous ways. We say, "God bless America," or "God save the Queen," or something similar to express our loyalty towards whatever government power lords over our lives. We say, "God is watching," to instill fear. We say, "God is good," as if to convince ourselves that this is true. We call the righteous men, "God-fearing." Fearing God is righteous. God-loving is not a term that has yet entered the common vernacular, though God is sometimes referred to as a "Loving God." We say, "In God we trust," but if that were true, then what use would we have for all these tanks and missiles. We say, "God helps those who help themselves." But those who help themselves don't need God's help. What is God? Is God an X. A variable? A place marker? God is that which we need God to be. A despot one moment, a redeemer the next. One who will love you, but send your enemies to roast in flames. One who is so great that he created the universe, yet so petty that he persecutes the homosexuals. One who explains everything that isn't explained, until someone else explains it. Believers, I ask: is God you? Is God your biases? Is God your judgments? Is God your ego? Let's cut to the chase: Are you God? When you say, "God damn this chair!" aren't you really the one damning the chair. When you say, "God Bless America!" aren't you really expressing your own love for America. When you say, "God doesn't approve of the sinners," aren't you really saying that you don't approve of someone, and so you've slapped the sinner label on them. When football players thank God for victory, aren't they really saying, "Thank God for making me so great."? Isn't God a crutch, not just for your life, but for your ego? Without God, would your perception of the world collapse? Or would it broaden beyond your mind's ability to comprehend? What is God? What is God? I think, believers, that God is the opinions that you can't otherwise justify. God is your intellectual laziness. God is your ego. God is that which you need God to be. God is X. God is the sum of all your willful ignorance. God is a convenience. God is a social adhesive. God is exclusionary. God is your bigotry. God is an excuse. God is your clever ploy to avoid thinking, responsibility and the need to develop a sense of social justice. God is your lie. What is God? God isn't real." - The Amazing Atheist.

No your dead right, children are taught pure fiction in schools, about a bloke who is god's son and can perform magic but when he gets nobbled he gets sentenced to die by crucifixion. If his dad was God, he would have saved him and he would have great God like powers, not a damn hippy going round telling stories. So much nonsense is told to impressionable youngsters in school. If you really pay attention to this story there is a lesson about what was, what is and what will be and what can be, it's a parable about mans natural progression based on fact, and a subtle warning about fucking with the natural order of things.

@@NitroMusicc I don't believe in time as a constant being more as a string which a bead is riding and every fraction of an inch is a frame of time or moment in time repeated with past information. I'm a christian (You may not agree with my belief, but I see my own evidence for it), but as a christian I know that the Christian bible doesn't support a loop, and having a God which was there in the beginning of what the bible says everything there currently is there is no evidence of the Christian God not being a sub-human before the beginning of our universe (Just like Clay). It is also clear in the bible that God knows all of the laws of nature, quantum physics, classical physics, etc. This does not prove God, or that anyone who reaches morality is a god, but it is something reasonable to be close to the biblical definition of God.

The simple thought of me being me, and no one else, and you being you, etc.. and no one ever experiencing your thoughts, your emotions, none of it. We all experience the same things, but differently. We try to understand the things we can’t understand, but try to. This video popped up in my recommended and, I wasn’t ready for the things in the video to pretty much describe how I’ve been thinking recently. But anyways I’m 19 years old (April 9th,) my birthday is July 5th, I was born in 2001, and my name is Clay.... Now here’s what was scary/ weird to me is that in the video he mentions a kid, who grew up with no father figure and has a bond with his mother like no other... nothing describes how I grew up more, having grew up with my mom over the years and having a bond with her that I can’t put into words. He mentions his mom dies when he was 21, I’m not 21 yet but wtf.... If it’s not already weird enough, earlier I was just randomly thinking about retiring by the time I’m 36, and I thought about that for awhile, and I don’t know why, and in the video “Clay” is 36 when he first figures out new possibilities... now I’m not saying I’m going to be the one who does all this amazing shit, but like I feel I just watched my personal timeline..

Mark Donald I think the video explained quite well, when he begins to talk about him living for millions of years and experiencing everything across the universe. Those memories he had as a child became so faint that it was almost felt like it never happened until he remembered. But even then as eternity will prolong to be infinite everything else just begins to wither away. No matter how abstract or extravagant, it all doesn’t matter cause even us humans will be forgotten without a trace.
