Nah not really. deserves to be where he is. He failed at red bull and tried to blame the car. had a big argument with Adrian Newey. Like seriously, how deluded do you have to be to tell Adrian Newey how to design a car because you are 1second a lap behind Max? He always has such a shitty attitude on the radio and in Netflix DTS, he thinks he is hilarious with his dumb generic repeated jokes about "oh that will be in netflix!" and also dumb statements like in the last one saying that in Karting he had to beat Ocon cos he couldnt believe anyone could be better than him (max destroyed him) and said he had to beat Ocon, and he did. and then turns around and says he was disqualified in the end. He couldnt even beat Ocon in karting without cheating lol

The part I don’t understand is how Alpine has allowed it for so long. He’s cost both cars positions and points on multiple occasions when other drivers got by because he was driving in his mirror and blocking his teammate. He’s literally done it to all his teammates…. Perez, Ricciardo, Alonso and now Gasly.

Ocon also did it twice in the Hungary race actually costing them both positions. At the start he pushed Alonso toward the wall allowing Hamilton to pass them both. Later he blocked Alonso and Ricardo got by them both.

I don't really understand why people say Ocon is a good driver, he is mid beyond mid and the only win he has in F1 is due to Alonso. Guy drives hella dirty against his own teammates but forgets how to drive when it comes to defending against others, especially if it means that it will benefit his teammate. He is the most selfish prick I've seen in all my years of watching F1 and I've been watching since 2002.

He is not mid pilot, but he is average. He has done very good races (like Monaco and Las Vegas last year) but he has huge ego more than his abilities and that makes his racecraft worse than it actually is.

They have to stop with the rearward facing camera. It adds nothing and it only means that we cannot see the forward facing view of a driver during a battle, meaning you cannot see steering input of the driver or see the battle from both POV's when the drivers are side by side

This Ocon doesn't know how to work well with his teammate. F1 is a team sport above all, and for a team like 2022 Alpine it would be more beneficial for Alonso to finish P6 and Ocon P8 than Ocon P7 and Alonso P8 (for everyone other than Ocon, of course). He fought with Alonso more than he fought with Hamilton at the start, and then he let Daniel overtake both of them in turn 2. Looking at Alpine now, Alonso made the best decision of his career. Better car and better team where he is number 1 instead of the team with the slowest car and having Ocon as teammate.

If you notice, Ocon has never had any good relationship with any of his teammates. Even with Danny, the usual outgoing and friendly banter Daniel has with his teammates, it was noticeably absent with Ocon. Can confidently say that Ocon is the problem.

The gap between Ocon and the wall was clearly going to disappear, if there was less than a car width when Honondo switched sides of the track anyway. I'm a Fernando fan, and french so the 21' season was awesome, their relationship on track seemed genuinely good. But the team attitude changed so much in 22 and Ocon has always been a bad faith teammate. It was so frustrating to watch, especially after Hungary. It's sad to see that Renault will never be able to get their s*** together for more than 2 seasons.

He owes Alonso for protecting him during his win. He thinks he’s better than Lewis Hamilton and that everyone should kiss his butt. The performance says otherwise and he won’t ever get a grip on this. Really that makes him the most perfect Alpine driver possible given their management has the same problem.

its hilarious how nobody seems to understand the most important rule in f1: the one guy you can not lose to is your teammate. of course he would rather give a position to another driver rather than his own team mate. thats how the business is. if you lose to your team mate you will probably lose your job sooner or later
