As a beekeeper, I feel compelled to give some info: Most allergies are from tree pollen, and most of those trees are wind pollinated, not bee pollinated. So bee pollen will not help with most allergies. It might be good for other issues, and of course local honey which is raw and unfiltered is full of interesting stuff which is good for you (although of course it is basically mostly sugar). Honey is naturally anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral. I encourage all to support local honey producers.

Zee, cool! However meanwhile, we all can do a lot to improve the situation for our native bees (which don’t provide honey for us, but do provide vast ecosystem services)! Here’s a few suggestions: Don’t use pesticides; don’t rake up leaves or keep your garden too tidy (provide habitat); leave out a shallow dish filled with water (add stones for landing pads); and plant flowers that are native to your area! This will attract lots of native insects that are just as fascinating as European honeybees. 🙂

Any idea how you naturally immunise yourself from tree pollen then in that case? Do we eat the leaves? I think weed pollen is the one that gets me the most to be honest, that stuff is nasty.

Many allergies are from tree pollen but not all. Bees do collect pollen from some trees that are wind pollinated, oak and maple for instance but not for pine generally. It really depends on where u are and what their early spring pollen sources are. I am also a beekeeper.

Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri: A man came to the Prophet and said, "My brother has some abdominal trouble." The Prophet said to him "Let him drink honey." The man came for the second time and the Prophet said to him, 'Let him drink honey." He came for the third time and the Prophet said, "Let him drink honey." He returned again and said, "I have done that ' The Prophet then said, "Allah has said the truth, but your brother's abdomen has told a lie. Let him drink honey." So he made him drink honey and he was cured. Narrated Jabir bin Abdullah: I heard the Prophet saying, "If there is any healing in your medicines, then it is in cupping, a gulp of honey or branding with fire (cauterization) that suits the ailment, but I don't like to be (cauterized) branded with fire."

I’m trying to get my wife into doing the local bee pollen. I have never in my life seen somebody with so many allergies!!!! I use to be highly allergic to poison ivy and I was a kid and at about age 18 I grew out of it. I’ve been doing heating and air-conditioning for half my life now and the one thing I can tell you it is with all these new construction homes being so airtight today’s kids are not being exposed to the outdoor elements like our grandparents did in their drafty old farm houses. My theory is they are not being exposed to it and building an immunity. Not to mention food today is so processed vs farm grown home cooked meals 50 years ago.

Start out slow. Only 2 or 3 granuals per day at first. Then slowly work your way up. Adding a few granuals a week as yiu build up to maybe a teaspoon a day. Many people have bad allergic reactions if you take too much too soon ...until you get used to it. @@awakeandpraying9913 it's not honey. It's pollen. The stuff you can see stick to the legs of the bee. It can be collected when the bee enters the hive, by adjusting the openings in the hive. It's full of good stuff and can pretty much sustain you if I remember correctly. I used to dissolve a teaspoon of it into tea or on my porridge. But if you take it for allergies use local pollen and be careful with the amount. Maybe rub some on your hand first to see if you get a reaction. If that is ok then just eat a few grains and see how that feels

while bee pollen is a very healthy thing to eat, it has one major drawback, and that is that it tastes wayyyy too good. the reason why that is a bad thing, is that it is quite expensive, and so if one is addicted to food like i am, then one better make sure to first be wealthy before getting hooked on the stuff. i ate ten pounds of it within just a few months, costing me about $140. oh btw, it is absolutely superior in promoting great digestion. without getting too graphic about it, it did quite a thorough job in cleaning up my insides in a very healthy way. actually the more i write about bee pollen, the more tempted i am to get some more of it

Take a spoon and put half bee pollen. Spread the bee pollen so it covers the whole spoon. Put a whisper of bee honey over the bee pollen. The honey will hold the pollen together. Put it in your mouth and swallow. Take a cup of your favorite tea and take a sip. The tea will with the mix of pollen and honey. Enjoy your health😁

Every time I consume bee pollen, without fail, I get this odd, very deep discomfort in my stomach. I’ve tried multiple sources and brands. Not a stomach ache, but an uncomfortable feeling deep in my stomach that’s hard to describe. I assume it’s an allergy, but I do fine with raw honey. Any idea what’s going on here?

It can be EXTREMELY hard to digest, cancelling out all its touted nutritional benefits. .... Bee bread is far easier to digest. Alternately, one may soak the pollen in a very citric juice for 10-12 hours. Again, it's great to hear about how nutritious it might be for someone.... but I am not alone: due to its structure, it is VERY hard to digest.
